What is Ziplyft, and is it a faster alternative to traditional eyelid surgery?👁️

Ziplyft is a device from Osheru that we've had firsthand experience with through their phase three clinical trial. Instead of using a scalpel or laser to remove excess upper eyelid skin, this device clamps the skin together and removes it directly, all under local anesthesia, in about 10 minutes. Because it's actually removing the same amount of skin a traditional blepharoplasty would, just without cutting and suturing in the usual way, recovery tends to be noticeably faster. In our own split-face trial, comparing a traditional blepharoplasty on one side to Ziplyft on the other, the Ziplyft side had less bruising, less swelling, and healed quicker overall. That said, it's not for everyone. Ziplyft can't address excess fat pockets, a protruding lacrimal gland, or ptosis, so if you need muscle tightening or other adjuncts like fat contouring or lacrimal suspension, a traditional upper blepharoplasty is still the better option. But if extra skin is truly your only concern, Ziplyft can be a quick, effective solution.
