Today I honor my Father, Clarence Arledge Jr.
🕊️️ April 3, 1933 – May 30, 2019 🇺🇸
My Dad was a Korean War Veteran, a man of faith, sacrifice, determination, and unconditional love. During a time of heightened racism and financial hardship, he courageously entered the military to help provide for his parents and his two sisters. He carried responsibilities on his shoulders that many could never imagine, yet he continued to stand strong with dignity, humility, and grace.
He was the type of man who always put family before himself.
A protector.
A provider.
A role model.
A quiet warrior with a heart full of love and strength.
Everything he did reflected sacrifice, discipline, resilience, and faith in God. His life taught me what true leadership looks like — not through words alone, but through consistent actions, perseverance, and integrity.
✨ A Poem for My Dad ✨
“A Soldier’s Heart”
He marched through storms so others could survive,
Carrying burdens while keeping hope alive.
With courage in his spirit and faith as his guide,
He stood for his family with unwavering pride.
In seasons of struggle and days filled with pain,
He sacrificed comfort through loss and strain.
Not seeking applause, nor glory to claim,
Just a humble man honoring his family name.
A warrior for freedom, a provider at heart,
Giving his all right from the start.
His strength was quiet, yet deeply profound,
The kind of love that forever surrounds.
Though Heaven now holds him peacefully above,
His legacy still speaks through sacrifice and love.
And every lesson he planted continues to grow,
Through the lives he touched and the seeds he sowed.
I love you forever, Daddy.
Thank you for being my true role model of faith and determination.
Your legacy will continue through me and generations to come. ❤️️🙏🏾🇺🇸
