🎃👻 What a SPOOKTACULAR time at Berkshire Commons! 👻🎃

Our 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat was a huge success, and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day! 🍂☀️

We had an amazing turnout and loved seeing so many members of our wonderful community, referral partners, families, and staff come together to celebrate. From the festive trunks and creative costumes to the smiles, laughter, and Halloween fun, it was a day filled with memories, connection, and plenty of treats! 🍬🧡

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who joined us, participated, and helped make this event so special. We are so grateful for the incredible support and the wonderful community that makes Berkshire Commons such a special place!

🎉 Celebrating Zara! 🎉

Berkshire Commons is so excited to celebrate Zara, our wonderful Administrative Assistant, on her recent promotion to Business Office Manager at our sister community, Mifflin Court! We were able to surprise her with a pizza party, and all of her favorite snacks, to send her off! ♥️

Zara has been such a special part of our Berkshire Commons family, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has done for our community. Her willingness to always lend a helping hand, her creative spirit, and her bright, beautiful smile make a difference every single day! ✨😊

While we will certainly miss seeing her here at Berkshire Commons, we are so proud of her accomplishments and excited to see her shine in this new role. Mifflin Court is lucky to have her! 💐

💜 Walking Together to End Alzheimer’s 💜

This past Saturday, October 17th, the Berkshire Commons team proudly came together for the Berks County Walk to End Alzheimer’s! 💜

We are so proud of our amazing team members who showed up, walked together, and supported a cause that is near and dear to our hearts. Every step taken represents hope, love, and a commitment to raising awareness and supporting all those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible team for coming together, showing your support, and making a difference in our community. We are grateful to walk alongside such caring and compassionate individuals who make Berkshire Commons so special! 💜

Together, we walk for our residents, our families, our friends, and everyone whose lives have been touched by Alzheimer’s. Every step brings us closer to a world without this disease. 💜

🎉🏡 A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO KEVIN ON HIS BIG MOVE HOME! 🏡🎉

At Berkshire Commons, we love celebrating victories, and Kevin’s journey is one worth celebrating! ❤️

After experiencing a devastating stroke that impacted his mobility and speech, Kevin faced a long road to recovery. Following extensive rehabilitation before arriving at Berkshire Commons for a respite stay, Kevin continued to show incredible determination, perseverance, and strength as he worked toward his goal of returning home.

With the support of our incredible Powerback Rehab therapy team here at Berkshire Commons, Kevin continued to make remarkable progress! 💪 One of the most inspiring milestones has been watching him progress from a wheelchair to a walker, and now to using a cane for mobility. His hard work and dedication have truly paid off!

Equally inspiring has been Kevin’s progress in communication. After the stroke affected his speech, he worked tirelessly to regain his ability to express himself and communicate with others. Today, he is heading home with improved mobility, increased communication abilities, and the confidence to take this exciting next step. 🥹❤️

To celebrate this incredible milestone, our Berkshire Commons team threw Kevin a special tailgate party before his return home! 🏈🎉 It was our way of honoring all the hard work he has put into his recovery and sending him off with plenty of smiles, encouragement, AND his family joined us for the send-off!

Kevin is now returning home to live independently, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything he has accomplished. His journey is a powerful reminder that progress takes determination, support, and a whole lot of heart.

Kevin, congratulations on your BIG move home! We are so grateful to have been part of your recovery journey. Keep moving forward, keep believing in yourself, and know that your Berkshire Commons family will always be cheering you on! ❤️👏

🎃🍪 A Little Pumpkin Spice & A Whole Lot of Fun at Berkshire Commons! 🍪🎃

What a wonderful afternoon in our Baking Club! Our Personal Care and Memory Care residents came together to bake delicious pumpkin spice cookies, filling the room with the warm, cozy smell of fall! 🍂❤️

The aroma was absolutely amazing, and the cookies tasted just as wonderful as they smelled! 😋 From mixing the ingredients to enjoying the sweet rewards of our hard work, it was an afternoon filled with smiles, laughter, teamwork, and plenty of delicious memories.

There’s nothing quite like bringing people together over something homemade! 🧡

🧠💜 The Power of Us. The Power of Now.

Lillian Reda, Genesis' National Director of Memory Support Clinical Practice and Education, recently attended the Alzheimer's Association Community Leaders Summit in Anaheim, CA.

This inspiring gathering brings together community leaders from across the country to share ideas, strengthen partnerships, and advance a collective vision of a world without Alzheimer’s and all other forms of dementia. The summit energizes participants to expand outreach, support, and impact in communities nationwide.

Reflecting on the experience, Lillian shared, “It was truly an impactful learning and networking experience. The ‘purple’ passion among attendees, the powerful personal stories shared, and the insights into the current momentum in care and treatment advancements were not only inspiring but absolutely energizing.”

Genesis is also proud to mark 17 years of participation as a National Team supporting Walk to End Alzheimer’s and Do What You Love to End ALZ, along with our continued efforts to expand access to education, support programs, advocacy, and research.
