Bone health is something many people do not think about until a fracture occurs.

An estimated 10 million Americans live with osteoporosis, a condition that weakens bones and increases the risk of injury. Regular exercise, a balanced diet rich in calcium and vitamin D, and routine screenings can help protect bone health.

Our care teams encourage adults, especially older adults, to talk with their provider about bone density testing and ways to reduce fall risk.

During National Stroke Awareness Month this May, we’re dedicated to recognizing the warning signs of stroke and promoting prevention awareness. Nearly 2 million brain cells die each minute a stroke remains untreated — acting FAST is critical to saving lives and preventing permanent disability.

Up to 80% of strokes are preventable. The most effective prevention strategies include controlling blood pressure (ideally below 120/80 mmHg), following a heart-healthy low-sodium diet, staying active, and quitting smoking.
