Collaboration is one of the most powerful tools for expanding access to dental care across Virginia.
We're excited to see the launch of the Dental Director Collaborative, a partnership between the Delta Dental of Virginia Foundation and Virginia Health Care Foundation designed to strengthen communication, leadership, and advocacy among safety net dental providers throughout the Commonwealth.
Bringing together dental directors from FQHCs, free clinics, and community health centers creates opportunities to share best practices, develop innovative solutions, and build stronger networks that ultimately benefit the patients and communities they serve.
We're especially excited that the first in-person meeting will be hosted at Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Center in Abingdon—a longtime partner in improving access to oral healthcare in Southwest Virginia where today kicks off another FREE denture clinic!
These goals closely align with the mission of the Virginia Dental Association Foundation's Mission of Mercy program: bringing providers, organizations, and communities together to improve oral health access for underserved Virginians. By fostering collaboration and strengthening safety net dental programs, initiatives like this help build a healthier future for patients across the Commonwealth.
