Such a pleasure to meet with this cohort of Creating A Life After High School participants with Starbridge! Our expanded DirectConnect services are kicking into high gear as our DirectConnect Coordinator, Mary Anne, is setting up in-services and workshops!

Recreation Night is our favorite part of the Life After program, of course! Especially when we can offer a growing menu of opportunities for doing things with your friends and family, discovering people who like the same things as you do, and exploring things you've never tried before!

Kayaking, fencing, birding, nature, museums, art, cycling, parks, rec centers, boat tours...and more! There's even a taste of Goat Yoga on June 9th!

Love this! Tactile wall signage lets people know the layout of the inside, before going in and having to figure it out!

People who are blind or have low vision, when visiting a restroom, may need to touch more surfaces than sighted individuals to locate the same facilities.

Tom Babinszki, an accessibility consultant at Even Grounds, has the solution through his project: tactile 3D-printed restroom maps. These maps are mini replicas of a restroom that you can feel—showing miniature versions of the sink, toilet, paper holder, hand dryer, urinals, and doors. Placed next to the ADA restroom sign, they let you preview the layout before entering, so you can navigate independently with minimal contact with surfaces.
