Fresh on the Blog, Pride Edition💜🏳️‍🌈:

Finding the right therapist can feel vulnerable. Especially when you’re looking for someone who understands the nuances of LGBTQIA+ identity, safety, and lived experience.

In our newest blog, we explore some of the things that can help when searching for an affirming counselor, including questions to consider, what supportive care can look like, and why feeling safe and seen in therapy matters.

Many of our therapists are part of the community, so folks don't need to explain themselves when they come in. Here, it's an affirming, supportive, and safe studio space...all masks left at the door.

You deserve care that honors your full self. 🌈

Today marks the final day of Mental Health Awareness Month, so we’re bringing you the last installment of our Sunday Scaries series 💚

This post explores:
• burnout & stress symptoms
• workplace accommodations
• FMLA & mental health leave
• emotional well-being at work
• signs something may need to change
• ways to advocate for yourself with compassion

Workplace stress and burnout are incredibly common, but struggling in silence shouldn’t have to be.

Many people don’t realize they may have workplace protections, accommodation rights, leave options, and mental health resources available to them. You deserve support, rest, and environments that recognize your humanity--not just your productivity.

Your mental health matters just as much as your work performance.

👉 Save this post for future reference.
👉 Share to help make workplace mental health conversations more visible. 💚

And while Mental Health Awareness Month may be ending, these conversations are not.

Join us throughout June for Pride Month, where we’ll continue sharing LGBTQIA+ mental health resources, community support, and insights from LGBTQIA+ therapists—including tools and strategies for navigating day-to-day challenges with care, authenticity, and resilience. 🌈💚

Many people who come to art therapy have already tried “pushing through.” Others have tried traditional talk therapy and are looking for an approach that feels more experiential, creative, embodied, or emotionally accessible.

At Spotted Rabbit Studio, art therapy combines creative expression, effective traditional talk therapies such as CBT, and conversation. Because sometimes words lead, and sometimes images do.

And if you’ve been wondering: "Okay… but how do I actually start therapy?”
We want the process to feel approachable.

Swipe through for a quick guide to financial support options, insurance information, and resources that may help make mental health care feel more accessible.💚

Only TWO weeks away! You won't want to miss this🐶🐸🐰

Our Embroidered Pet Portrait Workshop is on Saturday, June 13! Unplug and spend the day with fellow pet-lovers in this cozy, creative retreat 🧵💛

In this heartfelt workshop, you’ll turn a favorite photo of your beloved pet into a stitched piece of art to treasure while stepping into a calm, creative space for a little escape from the everyday.

Join Sarah Beren, LCAT, at Spotted Rabbit Studio as she guides you through beginner-friendly embroidery stitches, including backstitch and several variations of the lazy daisy stitch, to add beautiful floral details to your iron-on pet portrait transfer (which Sarah will have prepared for you in advance)! 🐶🦜🐱🐰

Whether your companion is furry, feathered, scaly, or something else entirely, this class is all about honoring them with creativity, care, and a bit of “you” time along the way.✨

Mental health challenges don’t always look the way we expect them to. That's why often, the hardest part is figuring out what you're actually experiencing.

Anxiety can feel like irritability or exhaustion. ADHD can look like burnout or chronic overwhelm. OCD, social anxiety, disordered eating, and other struggles are often misunderstood--or missed entirely.💚

That’s why accessible mental health education matters. Mental Health America offers free, confidential mental health screening tools that can help you better understand what you may be experiencing and whether additional support could help: https://screening.mhanational.org/screening-tools/

These screenings include:
• ADHD
• anxiety
• social anxiety
• OCD
• depression
• bipolar disorder
• PTSD/trauma
• eating disorders
• substance use
• youth mental health
…and more.

Screenings are not diagnoses, but they can be a meaningful first step toward self-understanding, support, and care.

At Spotted Rabbit Studio, many of these experiences are also areas our therapists specialize in, including neurodivergence, anxiety, OCD, identity exploration, trauma, emotional regulation, and disordered eating support.

You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out for help.
Healing sometimes begins with curiosity, language, and recognizing yourself in something for the first time.

👉 Save this post for later.
👉 Share with someone who may benefit from these free resources. 💚

Your Sunday Scaries Toolkit, Part 1 💚because your mental health matters at work, too. So, we’ve created a dedicated 2-part Sunday series.

As we know, workplace-related stress sometimes doesn’t just stop at the end of your workday. It can follow us home and impact our ability to focus on hobbies, self-care (yes, even like cooking a healthy dinner), relationships, and our capability to unplug and relax.

Many people don’t realize that mental health conditions can qualify for workplace accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). You may have workplace rights related to mental health if you are experiencing anxiety, burnout, depression, trauma-related stress, neurodivergence, or other mental health challenges that affect daily functioning.

Reasonable accommodations are adjustments that help employees perform their jobs safely and effectively...and many are low-cost or simple to implement.

Examples can include (find out more at the link below):
• flexible scheduling or remote work
• mental health leave or time for therapy appointments
• quieter workspaces or reduced distractions
• written instructions or task checklists
• supportive supervision and clearer communication
• additional breaks or modified workloads

Not everyone with a mental health condition needs accommodations—but for those who do, support should be individualized, collaborative, and responsive to real needs.

The more we dare to embrace and advocate for every part of ourselves--including our mental health and emotional capacity--the more we create space for others to do the same. 💚

Free workplace accommodation support and ADA information is also available through the Job Accommodation Network (JAN) and other disability advocacy organizations.

👉 Save this post for future reference.
👉 Share to help others learn about their workplace mental health rights. 💚
