Dahlia Center

Dahlia Center Women's Psychiatry and Hormonal Health. Medication, hormone replacement therapy, and holistic treatment options. Telehealth throughout Illinois.

www.DahliaPerinatal.com Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) are the most common complication of pregnancy, affecting up to 1 in 5 patients. Fortunately they're very treatable, and certification in Perinatal Mental Health means Dahlia Center has the expertise to work with you to navigate your treatment and help both you and your baby thrive. We see all women of reproductive age (18-50 year

s old) for their psychiatric needs. You don't need to be pregnant or postpartum to see someone who understands the experiences and struggles unique to women. Hormones, trauma, relationship and work inequities, parenting, stress. They all play an important role in women's mental health. Not everyone feels comfortable taking psychiatric medication, or wants to rely exclusively on medication for their mental health. All of the providers at Dahlia Center are completing a Reproductive and Integrative Psychiatry Fellowship. We work with you to create an evidence based, holistic mental health plan that incorporates lifestyle changes, herbs and supplements, and correction of hormonal imbalances, in addition to providing psychiatric medication management. Many people do need medication for their mental health, but we would much rather correct underlying issues than try to cover them up with a higher dose of medication than might be necessary. We believe in collaborative care, and that you are the expert in you! All services are provided via telehealth anywhere in Illinois. Schedule an appointment online at www.dahliaperinatal.com

If you are considering pregnancy, preconception counseling is available to optimize your medications and mental health prior to conception to ensure the lowest risk possible for you and your baby. Visit www.DahliaPerinatal.com for more information or to schedule an appointment today!

We reimagined women's mental healthcare
(because it was about time someone did).

At Dahlia Center, we bring together psychiatric expertise and mind-body care to support your emotional health from every angle. Whether you're navigating mood changes, hormonal shifts, or chronic symptoms that affect your mental well-being, our team is here to listen, understand, and help you move forward, with care that fits your life.

Instead of juggling separate providers, we offer coordinated, team-based care that brings together psychiatry, hormonal health, and integrative support in one place.

We built the kind of care we needed ourselves: whole-person, collaborative, and grounded in both science and lived experience.

That means psychiatric care that looks at the full picture while integrating medication management, hormone and reproductive mental health, and lifestyle factors that influence well-being. It means care that’s compassionate and collaborative, where your voice, values, and lived experiences are central to every decision. And it means working as a connected team, using technology to support access and continuity, not replace human connection.

When care is integrated, respectful, and personalized, it creates space for real, sustainable healing... not just symptom management.

New Medicaid work reporting requirement rules could make it harder for millions of people living with mental illness to keep the health care they rely on. NAMI is deeply concerned that these new rules create barriers that could leave too many people without coverage.

“When a person is struggling or faced with a crisis, we want people to be able to get the health care they need, not focus on filling out paperwork.” — NAMI CEO Daniel H. Gillison, Jr.

Quick intro for those who don't know us: Dahlia Center is a psychiatric practice based in Illinois, serving women and gender-diverse people across the state. We focus on the places where mental health, identity, hormones, and real life intersect.

We're excited to share that we've expanded our psychiatric medication management services to include hormonal health, with care for:
– Perimenopause and menopause-related mood changes, including hormone replacement therapy
– PMDD and severe PMS
– Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders
– Hormonal contributors to anxiety, depression, and sleep

Instead of asking clients to juggle separate providers, we offer coordinated, team-based care that brings psychiatry, hormonal health, and integrative support together in one place. We look beyond isolated symptoms to understand how biology, hormones, chronic conditions, nervous system patterns, and lived experience intersect, so nothing important gets overlooked.

We work closely with referring therapists and value collaboration. Your therapeutic relationship with the client is part of the care plan, not separate from it.

We've also added new providers and have immediate availability for new referrals (a rarity in this specialty, so we wanted to let our community know!).

If you have a client whose mental health symptoms don't quite fit a standard picture, or who has been told their symptoms are "just hormonal" without much follow-up, we'd love to be a resource.

Big news! We're expanding what we offer at Dahlia Center!

We're thrilled to welcome Yesenia Raithel-Vargas APRN, leading our new hormonal health service. This means our patients can now get integrated care for perimenopause, menopause, PCOS/PMOS, PMDD, and endometriosis - all working alongside their psychiatric care under one roof!

This is exactly the kind of whole-person, connected care we've always believed in. Hormones and mental health aren't separate conversations, and now we can treat them like the interconnected systems they are.

Watch Yesenia's intro to hear more about what she brings to our team and to our patients.

We'd love to connect! Email [email protected] for more information or to set up a virtual meeting.

Patients can schedule an Intake Assessment on our website at www.dahliaperinatal.com

"We are looking for patients that are able to attend and if any would be willing to share a story or experience of their perinatal mental health journey that would be great. We are hoping this will help us better learn how we can provide them with the most respectful care during this journey. If you find a good candidate that would be able to share, let me know and we can connect to give them a better idea of what the day of would look like."
