๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ s a local non-profit with a mission of saving just one life from su***de.
โWe need to make sure everyone, especially our youth know they matter, they are loved, and that there are places and people to turn to if you feel helpless from depression and anxiety,โ said Kelly Haskins, who founded ๐๐จ ๐๐ญ ๐
๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ following the death of her son, Hunter.
โIf it happened to our family, it could happen to anyone," she said. "We need to spread love and kindness and the You Matter message not just in September during su***de awareness month, but always.โ
In late September 2021, just five weeks after starting college at the University of Central Florida, the Haskins family received the worst call of their lives. Hunter had taken his life.
โHunter was a normal 18 year old. He played lacrosse and football all through high school, he was a high achiever, was loved by a huge group of family and friends, but he struggled internally,โ Kelly said. โHe wouldnโt talk about his feelings; he didnโt know how to reach out for help. Our mission is to help young people know they matter, how to reach out for help, and to provide tools to help them through a panic attack.โ
