A common mistake I see? Progressing exercises based only on what looks harder rather than understanding the actual demands placed on the tissue.

🔥A few interesting takeaways from this study that looked at hamstring activation and tension:

✅ Bilateral RDLs may create more peak hamstring force than maximal sprinting
✅ Sprinting isn’t automatically the “highest load” hamstring activity
✅ Hip thrusts may be great exercises—but probably not your best choice for maximizing hamstring loading
✅ Different exercises = different tools depending on your goal

Remember:

👉 The “best” exercise depends on the stage of rehab, goals, symptoms, training history, and sport demands.

🔥Make Skiing Fun🔥

In Episode 26 I sat down with J Lev, one of the founders of Line skis, Full Tilt boots and now the proud owner of J Skis. J helped form the free ski community as we know it today and is one of the legends of the sport. His main goal through J Skis is to keep skiing fun, as it should be!

🔥Strong Calf Muscles🔥

If you were looking for a way to progress, the strength in the and the calf muscles try the circuit out starting from easy to more challenging.

You’ll start off on 2 feet rising up and lowering down a 2 to 3 second tempo. Once you can do 2 to 3 sets of 20 reps here progress this exercise to level two which will be rising up on two legs and lowering down on one. The next progression is similar, rising and lowering on one leg with a slow tempo.

🔥Calf Plyo Progressions 🔥

This exercise series progresses single leg hops to improve plyometric control and endurance. This series is great because you can control the amount of bodyweight that you put through the ankle by leaning more forward or backward onto the front leg.

Depending on your fitness and stages of rehab, you can progress the time and level of each exercise.

A good place to start is 30 seconds repetitions.
