Please join us in welcoming Tia Wilson to the PEARL team as our new Programs Assistant!

Tia is a person in long term recovery whose passion for helping others is evident in everything she does. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Social Work at the University of Arkansas and is a 200-hour trauma-informed yoga instructor with continuing education in Yin Yoga.

Beyond her work and education, Tia volunteers with Teen Action & Support Center (TASC), where she teaches yoga to teens, and with Northwest Arkansas Harm Reduction, continuing to make a difference throughout our community.

We’re excited to have Tia on the PEARL team and look forward to the knowledge and lived experience she’ll bring to the people we serve.

Welcome to the PEARL family, Tia! We’re so glad you’re here.

Today our team had the privilege of spending the afternoon in court celebrating a huge accomplishment with one of our men’s recovery house residents, Walter.

Walter officially graduated from the Benton County Drug Court Program!

This journey hasn’t always been easy. There have been challenges, setbacks, and a lot of hard work along the way. Being able to walk alongside Walter throughout his recovery has been nothing short of a blessing. Watching him grow in confidence, discover who he is, and continue choosing recovery has been incredibly inspiring.

While Drug Court may be behind him, Walter’s story at PEARL is far from over. He plans to continue his recovery journey with us while pursuing a career in maintenance at NWACC.

Walter, we are so proud of you and can’t wait to see what this next chapter holds. Congratulations! 🥳

Please help us give a warm PEARL welcome to our newest Peer in Training, Traci!

Just two weeks ago, Traci completed the Arkansas Peer Recovery Core Training and is already stepping into this new role with a heart for helping others.

As a person in long-term recovery herself, Traci understands the challenges that can come with those first steps. Her lived experience and passion for supporting others will make her a wonderful addition to our team and a great resource for the peers we serve.

We’re so excited to have you with us, Traci. Welcome to the PEARL team!

Meet Samantha!

We've had the privilege of working alongside Samantha Johnson for a couple of months now, and we'd like to properly introduce her to our community!

Samantha serves as PEARL's Program Quality & Compliance Coordinator, and she brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her role, believing that recovery is not only possible but can completely transform a person's life.

Now celebrating 11 years of continuous recovery, Samantha has dedicated the past five years to helping individuals affected by substance use disorders. Her own recovery journey allowed her to rebuild every area of her life, from restoring opportunities she once thought were lost to earning her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Monticello, becoming a Licensed Social Worker, purchasing a home, and building a loving family with her husband Michael, who adopted and proudly helps raise her three children. She considers being a wife and mother her greatest accomplishment.

As a Peer Recovery Supervisor for the State of Arkansas, Samantha worked directly with individuals seeking recovery while supervising and mentoring Peer Recovery Specialists statewide. She served three years on the Arkansas Peer Advisory Committee and received the Arkansas Medical Setting Peer Recovery Award two consecutive years, an award later renamed the Samantha Johnson Medical Peer Recovery Award in recognition of her contributions. She is also a Licensed Medical Social Worker providing hospice care and serves as the Mayor of Kingsland, Arkansas.

In her role at PEARL, Samantha is passionate about ensuring we deliver the highest quality services possible, knowing that strong systems, well supported staff, and quality services create better outcomes for every person on the road to recovery.

We are honored to have her as part of our mission.

Yesterday, our Peer Recovery Supervisor, Tojuana, celebrated 16 years in recovery!

Sixteen years of choosing recovery. Sixteen years of perseverance, growth, and hope. Today, Tojuana shares that hope with others, walking alongside those finding their own path and reminding them that lasting recovery is possible.

Even though we were miles apart, we wanted to make sure Tojuana knew just how proud we are. We surprised her with flowers today to celebrate this incredible achievement and to thank her for the leadership, passion, and lived experience she brings to our team and the recovery community every single day.

Congratulations, Tojuana! Thank you for inspiring all of us. Here’s to 16 amazing years!

Today our team took some time away from the day to day to celebrate a really special milestone.

Our Executive Coordinator, Megan, celebrated 4 years in recovery yesterday.

Megan is one of those people who is always willing to jump in wherever she’s needed. She keeps so much running behind the scenes, supports everyone around her, and does it all without looking for recognition or complaining. She has a servant’s heart, and PEARL is better because of it.

We spent the afternoon laughing, sharing a meal, and simply enjoying being together as a team while celebrating Megan and all that she’s accomplished.

Recovery milestones matter. They represent thousands of choices, a lot of hard work, and continuing to light the path to show others there is hope. We’re so proud of you, Megan. Congratulations on four years! 🥳

We are excited to announce Jim’s promotion to Peer Outreach & Engagement Specialist!

Since joining PEARL in early 2024, Jim has been a source of encouragement and support for so many individuals in our community. One thing that has always stood out is that he never waits for a resource to come to him… he goes out and finds it. Whether it’s building relationships with community partners, learning about new services, or making connections that can help someone in recovery, Jim has always gone the extra mile because he genuinely wants every person he works with to have the best chance at success.

This expanded role is a natural fit for him. As our Peer Outreach & Engagement Specialist, Jim will continue supporting individuals in recovery while expanding the relationships and partnerships that help connect more people to the resources, opportunities, and support they need.

Thank you, Jim, for the way you show up for those we serve. We are proud to celebrate this next chapter with you and can’t wait to see the impact you’ll continue to make.

Congratulations, Jim!
