🎣 Reel fun was had by all!

A recent fishing outing gave participants the opportunity to spend time outdoors, enjoy the beauty of nature, and test their fishing skills. The day was filled with peaceful moments, fresh air, and a few impressive catches along the way.

🐟 Take a look through the photos and meet some of our "fish friends!" We think you'll enjoy seeing a few of the stars of the day and the catches that made the outing memorable.

Fishing can have several therapeutic benefits:

• Stress reduction: The repetitive, focused nature of casting and waiting can promote relaxation and lower stress.

• Mindfulness: Being present with the sights, sounds, and rhythms of nature encourages a mindful state and can reduce rumination.

• Connection with nature: Time outdoors is associated with improved mood, reduced anxiety, and greater overall well-being.

• Sense of accomplishment: Learning skills, solving problems, and catching fish can build confidence and self-esteem.

• Social connection: Fishing can provide meaningful time with friends, family, or community groups, which supports mental health.

• Physical activity: Walking, casting, and handling equipment offer light exercise that can benefit both physical and mental health.

• Patience and resilience: Fishing often requires persistence and adaptability, helping develop coping skills that transfer to other areas of life.

Many people find that fishing combines relaxation, gentle challenge, and immersion in nature in a way that supports emotional well-being.

At Lake Point Recovery & Wellness, we believe healing can happen in many different ways—including moments spent outdoors, building connections, learning new skills, and enjoying the simple things in life. 🌿💙

🌱 Growth takes many forms at Lake Point Recovery & Wellness.

Just as recovery is a journey, so is watching a garden grow. Through patience, care, and consistency, our clients have the opportunity to experience firsthand the rewards that come from nurturing something over time. From planting seeds to watching flowers bloom, gardening provides more than beautiful scenery—it offers meaningful lessons in healing, resilience, and personal growth.

🌼 We invite you to take a moment to check out some of the beautiful flowers currently blooming in our garden! These vibrant blooms are a reflection of the care, dedication, and growth that take place every day—not only in the garden, but in the lives of the individuals we serve.

Gardening therapy, also called horticultural therapy, is a therapeutic approach that uses gardening and plant-care activities to support physical, emotional, and social well-being. All clients are encouraged to participate in planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, and maintaining gardens as part of their treatment program.

Benefits can include reduced stress and anxiety, improved mood, increased self-esteem, development of responsibility and routine, and opportunities for physical activity. Gardening also encourages mindfulness, patience, teamwork, and a sense of accomplishment as participants see plants grow over time.

At Lake Point, we believe healing happens one step, one choice, and one day at a time—even in the garden. 🌿

💙 Choose Your Reminder for Today 💙

Sometimes we all need a reminder.

Which one do you need most today?

1️⃣ Progress is still progress, even when it's slow.

2️⃣ It's okay to ask for help.

3️⃣ Rest is productive, too.

4️⃣ You don't have to have everything figured out.

5️⃣ One difficult day does not define your journey.

Comment the number that speaks to you today. ⬇️

You never know who may need to hear the same reminder.

🌿 Hello, June 🌿

A new month doesn't require a perfect plan.

It simply offers a fresh opportunity to begin again.

At Lake Point Recovery & Wellness, we know that healing happens one step, one choice, and one day at a time. Every new day is a chance to move forward, no matter where you are on your journey.

As we welcome June, we'd love to hear from you:

✨ Finish this sentence:

"This month, I want to give myself permission to __________."

Maybe it's:
💙 Rest without guilt
💙 Ask for help when I need it
💙 Focus on my mental health
💙 Let go of something weighing me down
💙 Celebrate my progress
💙 Try something new

There are no wrong answers.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

At Lake Point Recovery & Wellness, we recognize the strength, sacrifice, and courage shown not only by those who served, but also by the families and loved ones who continue to carry their memory forward.

As we reflect today, may we lead with gratitude, compassion, and support for one another. ❤️

Wishing everyone a peaceful and meaningful Memorial Day.
