California Student Special Interest Group

California Student Special Interest Group Official page of the California Student Special Interest Group. We are a California Physical Therapy Association (CPTA) interest group.

The CA Student SIG is a student run organization that will provide a platform for PT and PTA students to meet, share ideas, and promote interests regarding the field of physical therapy, the CPTA, and the APTA. Our aim is to promote the participation of students in the CPTA, represent the interests of students in state government affairs, and prepare members for future leadership roles in the profession.

📢MAY ADVOCACY UPDATE: APTA and rehabilitation advocates across the country are urging Congress to act now to support HR 8386 in repealing Multiple Procedure Payment Reduction (MPPR)!

MPPR penalizes providers when scheduling multiple therapies on the same date which disproportionately affects beneficiaries in rural and underserved communities where transportation issues may require therapy services to be delivered on the same day to reduce the need for repeat visits to the clinic.

✨Why This Matters
Patients deserve timely, high-quality rehabilitation care without unnecessary payment cuts standing in the way.

➡️Contact members of Congress and ask them to:
    Support the RECOVER Act (H.R. 8386)
    Repeal the outdated MPPR policy
    Protect patient access to physical therapy services
