Whether we hate it or love it, cleaning is an important task we need to take care of. A clean environment is essential for positive mental and physical health. Before you break out the heavy-duty cleaners, did you forget anyone? That's right, your furry friend! Certain cleaning products can contain dangerous chemicals that are especially harmful to animals. Common offenders are bleach, drain cleaners, and stain removers. Below are some ingredients to look out for and avoid. If you're not sure which products are safe to use around your pets, give us a call at (631) 584-6336.

Pet Appreciation Week was created by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) in 1981 to raise awareness about overall pet care. With hectic schedules and busy lives, pet owners sometimes don’t have the time to spoil their pets like they want to—this is where Pet Appreciation Week comes in.

This designated week allows pet owners to recognize just how much pets enrich our lives with their never-ending love and silliness that makes us laugh.

Pet Appreciation Week is an excellent time to show how much you appreciate the enrichment your pet gives you every day.
Animals are family and should be treated as such.

We must ensure we take care of our pets each and every day and provide medical care when needed.

Don’t forget to keep up with yearly checkups, and most of all, always give your pet lots and lots of love each day.

Send some pics of your fur babies, we'd love to see them! 🐾🄰🐾

A dog’s reaction to guests can tell us a lot about their comfort level and behavior. Reactions like barking, hiding, or guarding can be linked to anxiety, lack of socialization, or protective instincts. Understanding those signals can help prevent stress and create safer interactions for everyone.

Polydactyl cats are born with extra toes, most often on their front paws. It’s a genetic trait and is usually completely harmless, just an extra dose of cute. That said, those extra toes can come with a few care considerations. More toes means more nails to trim, and sometimes they grow at different angles or are easier to snag if not maintained. Most polydactyl cats live totally normal, healthy lives, but regular paw checks and nail trims are important to keep them comfortable.
