Drivers should be especially alert in residential areas and school zones as bus routes resume. Key reminders include:
• Always stopping for a school bus with flashing red lights and an extended stop sign, in both directions on most roads, unless there is a physical median.
• Reducing speed in school zones, even outside of posted school hours, since students may be present for early activities.
• Watching for children who may dart into the street, particularly near bus stops and crosswalks.
