Feel Good Friday is a little mix of goodness from the week.

You will find:
✨ Motivation for the days when parenting feels overwhelming
✨Recap of Tip Tuesday to make feeding and development smoother
✨A busted myth because there’s a lot of outdated or confusing baby advice out there
✨A little about Grow Well
✨And a little joy from the week because it’s important to focus on the positive!

If you would like to save one of the slides from the reel, just Comment or DM me and I can send it over!

My goal with Grow Well is simple:
To help parents feel confident, informed, and supported as their baby grows through the first year.

Because most of the time, parents don’t need more pressure. They just need the right information and a little guidance.

Myth: Your baby has to hit every milestone right on schedule.

Truth: Milestones matter. But they don’t come with a stopwatch.

There are typical age ranges for developmental milestones, but babies don’t all follow the exact same timeline. And if your baby was born prematurely, their corrected age will be important when looking at developmental milestones, especially during those early months.

So if your baby hasn’t checked a box by the exact day you expected, take a breath. You didn’t miss a deadline.

What matters is looking at the whole picture: how your baby is moving, interacting, communicating, learning new skills, and progressing over time.

And if you have concerns about your baby’s development, you never have to “wait and see” alone. It’s okay to ask questions and seek support.

Just over here waiting for the right babies and families to find me…

The ones who are looking for a little support with feeding, development, or just figuring out what’s going on with their little one.

If that’s you, hi. I’m Kim, and I’d love to help!

Grow Well is a private pediatric OT practice in St. Charles County, focused on infant feeding and development during your baby’s first year.

No pressure. No judgment. Just support, education, and a little more confidence for the people who know their baby best.

If you’ve been looking for this kind of support, maybe this is your sign.

You don’t need to buy every fancy baby toy just because the marketing makes it look like your baby NEEDS it!

Let’s be clear, I’m not saying toys can’t be helpful for development! Toys can absolutely support learning, movement, exploration, and play. But you don’t need ALL the toys to give your baby meaningful opportunities to learn and grow.

Talking, reading, and playing with your baby are some of the best ways to support their development, and they don’t require a cart full of toys.

Your voice, your face, and your attention are already very powerful tools for learning.

So if you’re feeling the pressure to buy more…take a breath. You don’t have to keep up with every new “must-have” toy on the market.

The best toy for your baby really is you!!

Happy Labor Day!

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
~ Unknown

I feel incredibly grateful to do work that I genuinely love.

Working with babies, supporting families, and helping little ones grow and thrive is more than just a job to me. It’s work that feels meaningful, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to do it.

Of course, even when you love what you do, rest is still important. So today, I’m celebrating the work I love, the families who trust me, and the reminder that it’s okay to slow down and enjoy the holiday.

Oh, I wasn’t sad. I just needed a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

A little feeding support, a little developmental work, a little baby giggle therapy…and suddenly I’m feeling much better!

Just another day of getting to do what I love!

Carrying the weight of being the social media star of one company is a lot… but how about more than one company? 😂

One minute I’m in scrubs treating babies, the next I’m photographing a newborn, and somewhere in between I’m planning a wedding show. 😅

And while I absolutely adore all of my businesses and avenues to help others, apparently I’m also the marketing department, the content creator, and the person who is supposed to remember what day it is! 😬

Three businesses. One social media star who can get really tired of her own face and voice! 🤣

But honestly, I love all that I do and getting to share all the different things I do.

Myth: As long as your baby is gaining weight, feeding must be going well.

Truth: Weight gain matters. But it doesn’t tell the whole story.

Why?! WHY?! 😂

Weight gain is an important part of assessing how a baby is doing, but it’s not the only piece of the feeding picture.

A baby can be gaining weight and still be experiencing challenges with:
✨Latching or bottle-feeding
✨Coordination of sucking, swallowing, and breathing
✨Comfort during or after feeds
✨Feeding efficiency
✨Oral-motor skills

Parents can still have concerns even when someone says, “But baby is gaining weight!”

Your concerns are still worth exploring. Feeding is about more than just the number on the scale. It’s also about how your baby is feeding, how they’re feeling, and how the experience is going for both of you.

“But you don’t take insurance… isn’t that more expensive?”

It’s a completely fair question.

Recently, a mom told me that what she paid out of pocket for her baby’s care at Grow Well wasn’t far off from what they had already been paying in copays at a large healthcare system.

That really made me think about why I intentionally chose a private-pay model.

At Grow Well, I’m able to spend the time needed to truly get to know your baby and your concerns. We can focus on what your baby needs, rather than trying to fit everything into an insurance-driven treatment model.

And one of the things I love about private pay is knowing what you’ll owe before you book. No guessing what your insurance will cover. No waiting to find out whether a deductible applies.

More time, more flexibility, and more individualized care.

I also understand that private pay is not attainable for every family. That’s something I take seriously.

But it is a decision I feel is best for my practice and the kind of care I want to provide.

If cost is a barrier, I’m always willing to talk with families about what might work on an as-needed basis. I can’t promise that I’ll be able to accommodate every situation, but I don’t want someone to assume they can’t reach out without asking.

Grow Well also accepts HSA/FSA funds and can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

I believe that getting help for your baby shouldn’t have to feel like navigating a maze.
