Michael spent his early life in Everett, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Everett High School and completed vocational training. Salem- Joseph Murphy, beloved husband, esteemed golfer, and cherished member of the Salem community, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on June 10, 1948, in Salem, Massachusetts, he lived in this vibrant city throughout his life, embracing its charm and community spirit.

Joseph was a proud alumnus of Salem Public Schools, but he got his GED and attended PGA School in Vermont. He began his lifelong love affair with golf at the young age of 6 years old, taking his first steps in the sport as a caddy at Kernwood Country Club, in Salem, MA. LUNENBURG - Mary L. O’Brien, age 94 years, passed away Friday, October 23, 2026, at 9:30 pm, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Salem, daughter of the late Patrick J. and Eva M. (Belanger) O’Brien. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from St. John’s High School in Peabody. She was part of a very close loving family all her life.

Marblehead- Rachel Lowell (Seamans) Schroeder, 71, of Marblehead, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Salem on November 14, 1954, Rachel was the daughter of the late Peter and Anne Seamans, also of Marblehead. A beloved member of the Marblehead community, she was a familiar face at several local businesses over the years. Rachel had a talent for bringing beauty to even the smallest spaces through her gardening; a love of reading and sharing books with friends; and a gift for making people feel seen and loved. Just a few blocks from here sits the Old Burying Point, Salem's oldest cemetery, in continuous use since 1637 and one of the oldest burial grounds in the entire country. It sits right beside the Witch Trials Memorial, built to honor the twenty people who lost their lives in 1692.

October brings a lot of visitors to Salem, for the history, the mystery, and the fun of it all. But this time of year is also a reminder of something we think about every day here: this city has always found ways to remember. To mark a life, a loss, a lesson learned the hard way. That instinct, to hold memory with care, is the same one we bring to every family we're honored to serve.
