Working from home offers a lot of flexibility, but it can also create challenges that aren’t always obvious.

When your office, living room, and personal space become the same place, it can be harder to maintain healthy boundaries.

Many remote workers find themselves working longer hours, feeling isolated from others, or struggling to fully disconnect at the end of the day.

Some signs that your work-from-home routine may be affecting your mental health include:
✓ Feeling isolated or disconnected
✓ Difficulty separating work time from personal time
✓ Increased stress, anxiety, or burnout
✓ Feeling mentally “on” even after logging off
✓ Loss of motivation or decreased work-life balance

The good news? Small changes can make a big difference. Taking breaks, creating routines, prioritizing social connection, and seeking support when needed can help protect your mental well-being.

If you’re finding it difficult to manage stress, burnout, or work-life balance, therapy can provide a dedicated space to process challenges and develop strategies that work for you.

We offer both in-person and telehealth appointments, with daytime, lunchtime, and afternoon availability designed to fit around busy work schedules.

Today, we’re celebrating 14 years of Grow Through Life Counseling. 💚

What started with one office in Chula Vista in 2012 has grown into a team serving communities across San Diego and Riverside Counties, with both in-person and telehealth services available throughout California.

Over the past 14 years, we’ve had the privilege of supporting children, teens, adults, couples, and families through life’s challenges, transitions, and moments of growth. We’ve built meaningful relationships with referral partners, community organizations, healthcare providers, and, most importantly, the clients who have trusted us with their stories.

While we’re proud of how much we’ve grown, what matters most to us is the incredible team we’ve built and the lives we’ve had the opportunity to support along the way.

To our clients, referral partners, team members, and community organizations: thank you for being part of this journey. We are honored to do this work and grateful to be part of such caring communities.

Here’s to 14 years of helping people grow through life — and many more to come. ✨

Summer is one of the most common times people pause therapy.

Schedules change. Kids are home. Vacations pop up. Life gets busy. And suddenly therapy starts feeling “less urgent.”

But here’s the thing: mental health doesn’t really work seasonally.

In fact, summer can actually bring a lot more stress than people expect:
⛱️ disrupted routines
⛱️ financial pressure
⛱️ travel stress
⛱️ social comparison
⛱️ less structure
⛱️ balancing kids, work, and plans

A lot of people end up returning to therapy in the fall feeling more overwhelmed, disconnected, or emotionally behind than they realized.

That doesn’t mean you can never take a break — but it may be worth exploring ways to stay consistent before completely stopping support. Sometimes that looks like:

☑️ switching to telehealth
☑️ adjusting appointment times
☑️ scheduling less frequently instead of stopping altogether
☑️ planning sessions around vacations in advance

Consistency doesn’t have to look perfect to still be helpful.

Summer schedules change — but your mental health doesn’t just pause for the season ☀️

Between vacations, camps, travel, changing routines, and busy calendars, summer is one of the most common times people unintentionally fall out of therapy. But consistency in therapy doesn’t have to look perfect to still be helpful.

Sometimes it’s simply:
✨ Scheduling appointments in advance
✨ Switching to telehealth while traveling
✨ Moving sessions earlier in the day or week
✨ Staying connected to support even during busy seasons

You don’t have to choose between enjoying your summer and prioritizing your mental health. Both can exist at the same time.

POV: you realize therapy can fit into your lunch break 👀🩵

A lot of people assume therapy has to mean leaving work early, sitting in traffic after a long day, or completely rearranging their schedule. But for many people, lunchtime therapy is actually one of the easiest ways to consistently prioritize mental health.

Whether you work from home, have a flexible schedule, or can step away midday, therapy may be more doable than you think.

✨ Midday appointments available
✨ In-person + telehealth options
✨ Most major insurance plans accepted
✨ Support for teens, adults, couples & families

Sometimes taking care of yourself looks less like a huge life change… and more like blocking off your lunch hour.
