Being told your AMH is “too low” or that you’re “too old” can feel like the end of the conversation.

Throughout an IVF cycle, follicle growth, hormone levels, medication response, and the timing of the trigger shot can all change how a physician approaches treatment.

That’s why ongoing monitoring matters.

For some patients, that may mean adjusting medication doses. For others, it may mean allowing follicles more time to develop or carefully choosing when to trigger based on the entire follicle cohort rather than one predetermined measurement.

This can be especially important for patients with diminished ovarian reserve, low AMH, previous IVF failures, or those over 40, when every follicle and every egg may be especially meaningful.
