Tomorrow, August 22nd is National Bring Your Cat To The Vet Day!🩺 (But our clinic is closed on weekends so we’ll see you Monday😅)

Cats have a reputation for landing on their feet... but staying healthy takes more than good reflexes!🐱 Regular wellness visits help keep your feline healthy from whiskers to tail. Our team uses a Fear Free approach, to do everything we can to make each visit calm, gentle, and stress-free—for both you and your cat. Our Fear Free vet visits help your kitty spend less time stressing and more time getting back to the important stuff: napping, judging you, and knocking things off the counter🩺🐈💚

🐱 August 8th was ! 🎉

There are 58.3 million pet cats in the U.S.—and we’re not surprised one bit. Who wouldn’t love a tiny roommate who’s equal parts adorable, sassy, and in charge? 😹 After all, cats have been quietly plotting world domination one household at a time. We feed them, clean their litter boxes, obey their 3AM demands. And somehow, they still look at us like WE’RE the inconvenience.

This month is the purr-fect excuse to spoil your feline friend with extra cuddles, treats, and their favorite thing (yes, even if that thing is ignoring you💕).

Keeping cats happy and healthy starts with understanding their unique needs, from whiskers to paws🐾💚 Regular wellness visits help keep your feline friend healthy and ready for their next adventure—whether that’s the balcony/patio or a trip to the kitchen for their meowtini🍸

During his surgical internship at Pet Specialists of Austin, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, Dr. Stone adopted Archie from Austin Pets Alive!💙

Found as a puppy with a broken leg, Archie spent over 2.5 years in the shelter and was returned three times due to behavioral challenges. Yet he became a calming presence for other shelter dogs, helping comfort fearful pups with his gentle nature. With patience, training, and a family who believed in him, Archie became the loving companion he was always meant to be.

Every shelter dog deserves the chance to be seen for their potential, not their past🐾

Your future fur bestie might be waiting to steal your heart🐶🐱 Show some love to the local shelters/rescues tagged below by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or sharing their adoptable pets❤️‍🩹

If you have a dog, you should know about foxtails (aka “grass awns”). In the spring and summer, they thrive in fields and along roadsides and hiking trails across much of the US. Foxtails can lodge into your dog’s ears, paws, and nose—causing discomfort and leading to infections if they aren’t removed. Learning to spot these spiky grasses and how to check your dog from nose to tail can go far in preventing injuries. If you find a foxtail and can’t remove it, take your pet to the closest urgent or emergency care vet for removal and follow-up care.
