We are associated with California State University, East Bay Graduate Speech Pathology Program, Gallaudet University Graduate School of Speech Pathology and Delta College's Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Program. Reaching speech and language goals takes time, and consistency is often key. Regular therapy sessions, practicing skills at home, and creating opportunities to communicate throughout everyday routines can all help support progress.

Meet Emani, our newest Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow (SLP-CF)! 💜 One of her favorite spots in the San Ramon Office? The Grocery Store in The Town, our immersive play space!

From shopping for groceries to playing cashier, The Town gives children opportunities to practice communication through real-life imitation and imaginative play. These everyday play experiences can support:

Labor Day Closure Reminder!
Language Essentials will be CLOSED Monday, September 7th for Labor Day. All speech therapy, occupational therapy, and feeding therapy sessions will resume as regularly scheduled on Tuesday, September 8th.

✨ Small Tool, BIG OT Benefits! ✨

Today, Ms. Casey is sharing one of her favorite toy tools to use during Occupational Therapy sessions: bean bags! 💜

Small bean bags are a simple, versatile way to work on important OT skills through play, including:

🖐️ Fine motor skills — grasping, holding, and manipulating
🎯 Hand-eye coordination — tossing, catching, and aiming
💪 Upper-body strength — reaching, lifting, and throwing
⚖️ Balance & body awareness — moving and positioning the body
🧠 Motor planning — figuring out how to complete a movement
🎲 Following directions & attention — turning therapeutic exercises into fun games

The best part? Kids are practicing functional skills without it feeling like work! 💜

Congratulations, Paige! After working hard, meeting her speech goals, and growing her confidence, Paige is officially ready to spread her wings! We’ve loved watching her progress—and we’re especially excited that she joined our group speech sessions with Ms. Palwasha along the way.

Speech therapy is about so much more than reaching individual goals. It’s about building confidence, communication skills, friendships, and the tools children need to thrive in everyday life.
