Breeding season translation guide:

“She NEVER ovulates this early.”
= she absolutely ovulated early.

“Can we check her one more time?”
= yes. And then probably one more after that.

“What do you mean the follicle disappeared?”
= exactly what you think it means. 😅

For all the chaos, schedule changes, and mares keeping everyone humble… we honestly wouldn’t trade breeding season for anything.

An embryo is tiny, but the amount of work behind one pregnancy is anything but.

From ovulation timing to embryo development, recipient synchronization, transfer day, and that first pregnancy scan — there are countless moving parts behind every successful outcome.

That’s what makes reproduction medicine so rewarding.
So many careful decisions leading up to one small heartbeat.

07/20/2026

Embryo transfer day carries a lot of emotion.
Excitement. Nerves. Hope. Waiting. Relief.

We know what’s invested in these moments: the time, the planning, the early mornings, the financial commitment, and the dreams tied to every single transfer.

That’s why we don’t just focus on the procedure itself. We focus on walking with our clients through every step of the process, communicating honestly, answering questions, and making sure every decision is made with the best possible outcome in mind.

We’re just as invested in these mares and embryos as you are. 🤍

One of the biggest misconceptions in breeding season is that saving money upfront always saves money overall.

In reality, rushed decisions, poor timing, or cutting corners often lead to repeated cycles, missed opportunities, and more expense later.

Good reproduction management is about strategy:
• choosing quality recipients
• staying ahead of timing
• planning the season intentionally
• and making decisions that support long-term success

The goal is never just getting through breeding season. It’s maximizing every opportunity within it.

The best breeding programs aren’t the ones that go exactly to plan.
They’re the ones that know how to pivot when the mare says otherwise.

Edema changes. Ovulation timing shifts. A recipient mare doesn’t line up. Uterine fluid appears. A shipment gets delayed.

Sometimes the entire plan changes in 30 seconds.

That’s why successful repro work isn’t just about schedules and protocols — it’s about experience, decision-making, and knowing when to adapt in real time to protect the best possible outcome for the mare and embryo.

Not every embryo gets transferred.
And honestly, that’s part of protecting the ones that matter most.

A recipient mare can look perfectly fine on the surface while still not being the right fit that day. Timing, uterine environment, synchronization, and overall reproductive quality all play a role in long-term success.

Sometimes the best decision we make is waiting.

Good breeding programs aren’t built around convenience. They’re built around giving every embryo the best possible chance from the very beginning.

Not every mare needs pushed.
Not every cycle needs forced.
And not every recipient needs used.

Good reproduction work is knowing when to move forward — and when not to.

Most people see aspiration day, what they don’t see is everything leading up to it.

The scheduling, preparation, communication, lab setup, mare management, and constant attention to detail all happen long before the procedure itself.

Reproduction medicine is full of small decisions that quietly impact outcomes in a big way.

The procedure may only take a short time — but the preparation behind it never does.
