Residents from Wesley Health Care Center recently enjoyed a special outing aboard our accessible bus to the Albany Institute of History & Art for Meet Me at the Institute, a program designed for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. During the visit, residents explored Blanche Lazell: Becoming an American Modernist, an exhibition celebrating one of America’s pioneering abstract artists. Through guided, open-ended conversations led by museum educators, residents shared their observations, memories, and personal interpretations of Lazzell’s vibrant paintings and innovative prints. The experience sparked meaningful discussion, curiosity, and connection as residents engaged with artwork that challenged traditional perspectives and encouraged creative thinking. Programs like these remind us that art has the power to inspire conversation, evoke memories, and bring people together in ways that enrich quality of life. Thank you to the Albany Institute of History & Art for creating a welcoming space where our residents could explore, learn, and connect through the universal language of art. ❤️

This week, The Wesley Community brought the spirit of our upcoming Toasts and Tides Gala directly to our residents with a special on-campus social celebration for seniors from Woodlawn Commons, Embury Apartments, and Wesley Health Care Center. Residents enjoyed senior-friendly hors d’oeuvres, festive mocktails, and an unforgettable performance by Garland Nelson that had everyone clapping, singing, and dancing along to their favorite tunes. The event was inspired by our community-wide Toasts and Tides fundraiser taking place June 20 at The Lodge Saratoga Casino At The Wesley Community, we are committed to providing quality care while creating meaningful, inclusive experiences for every senior we serve - whether they live independently, require supportive services, or need skilled nursing care. Because seniors don’t stop wanting to have fun, make friends, laugh, and dance.

Thank you to the Music Company Orchestra for sharing your talent and bringing the joy of live orchestral music to our community! We were delighted to welcome residents from across our campus, including Woodlawn Commons, Wesley Health Care Center, and Embury Apartments, for this special performance. Your volunteer orchestra's mission of bringing free orchestral performances to those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience live music is truly inspiring.

A special thank you as well to our staff, who helped make the event possible. We appreciate everyone who contributed to such a wonderful afternoon of music and community!

Today we’re cheering for a very special connection to The Wesley Community! Good luck to Saratoga Springs native Cherie DeVaux and her Belmont Stakes contender, Golden Tempo, as they take to the track today! At The Wesley Community, we’re especially proud to cheer on Cherie because her success story is closely connected to one of our own. Her mother Janet has dedicated nearly 30 years to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant and mentor to new Caregivers. Janet often shares how her career at The Wesley Community helped provide stability for her family while they worked to build their horse training business . Today, as Cherie competes on one of racing’s biggest stages, we’re reminded that behind every success story are hardworking people whose dedication and perseverance make dreams possible. From all of us at The Wesley Community we wish Cherie, Golden Tempo, and their entire team the very best in today’s race!
