Not every patient can comfortably achieve a textbook neutral posture during IMU motion capture calibration.

In clinical assessments, orthopedic restrictions, neuromotor conditions, post-stroke asymmetry, or forward-flexed posture can make traditional neutral calibration difficult or non-representative.

That’s where vCAT comes in.

Noraxon’s Virtual Calibration Adjustment Tool allows users to visually refine calibration alignment after capture, helping the biomechanical model better represent the subject’s actual standing posture.

The result is a more representative calibration workflow for real-world patients — especially when ‘neutral’ simply isn’t realistic.

Bike fitting is becoming more data-driven. 🚴

Last year, David Montgomery with shared how he uses Noraxon’s 2D markerless motion tracking during the fitting process to better understand rider movement and positioning.

Here’s what his workflow looks like:
• Rider interview & injury history
• Baseline motion capture on the bike
• Real-time joint angle tracking with MR4
• Immediate visual reports for fit analysis
• Incremental bike adjustments
• Final before vs. after comparison
