Well we are all back safely in the states after an amazing week in Honduras. Between the 3 surgeons (myself, another general surgeon, and a Gyn surgeon) we did 47 cases this week. We visited a local church (built ten years ago by our group), distributed tons of rice and beans, spent time with the children and the elderly, and helped many learn about Jesus for the first time in their lives. I think we all came back physically exhausted but spiritually refreshed. Until next year Honduras…

I always enjoy the opportunity to do a little teaching while in Honduras. This week we worked with Alison, who just graduated from medical school in Honduras, and Gracie, who is a senior premed student at LSU. They were both a big help in the operating room all week and hopefully learned a thing or two from an old surgeon.
