Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. 🇺🇸

Today, we pause in gratitude for those who gave their lives, and we hold space for the families, friends, and communities who continue to carry their loss.

For many, holidays like this can bring pride, grief, memories, or mixed emotions. Whatever today looks like for you, know that your experiences and feelings are valid.

From all of us at Karuna Counseling, we extend our deepest appreciation to those who served and those who continue to remember. ❤️🤍💙

Let's get messy , and heal together ! ✨️
Hey everyone ! I’m a local mom, I'm certified in early childhood education, and I'm a firm believer that the best therapy is found in the garden.. I’m hosting Rooted Healing on June 20th, and I’d love for you and your kiddos to join us at 1 pm outside @ 731 Illinois Street ( karuna counseling building ) on the side lawn ! 🙌
Life can be heavy, and sometimes we just need to 'compost our feelings' and start fresh. We’ll be making seed bombs and DIY biodegradable planters that we'll plant sunflowers in !🌻 It’s a safe, fun space to release some energy and make some memories ! Did you know that BEETS taste like the SMELL of rain ?! It's a chemical called geosmin ! The more ya know , the more ya grow , lets do some growing together ! 🌱

Today is Mental Health Provider Appreciation Day, and we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible professionals who show up every day to support others through some of life’s hardest moments. 💚

Mental health providers do far more than listen — they hold hope, offer guidance, sit with grief, celebrate growth, and help individuals and families heal in ways that often go unseen.

To all therapists, counselors, social workers, case managers, psychologists, psychiatric providers, and mental health advocates: thank you for the compassion, patience, and heart you pour into your work each day. The impact you make matters more than you know.

At Karuna Counseling, we are especially grateful for our amazing team and the strength of the communities we serve.

Be kind to your mental health providers today… they’re carrying a lot with you, and for you. 💚

Happy Mother’s Day to the mothers, grandmothers, bonus moms, foster moms, grieving moms, hopeful moms, and the women who spend their days caring for others in ways both seen and unseen. 💚

Today, we celebrate the strength it takes to nurture, guide, protect, and love — even on the hard days. Motherhood is beautiful, exhausting, rewarding, messy, emotional, and deeply human all at once.

If today feels joyful, we celebrate with you.
If today feels heavy, complicated, or painful, you are not alone in that either.

At Karuna Counseling, we honor all the different experiences this day can hold and encourage everyone to give themselves the same compassion they so freely give to others.

Wishing you moments of peace, connection, and care today. 🌷

💚 Let’s Strike Out Stigma—Together 💚

In support of Region 1’s efforts to strike out stigma, we’re inviting our community to wear green on Wednesday, May 20th.

Mental health touches more lives than we often realize—and your support helps remind others that they’re not alone.

✨ Whether it’s a green shirt, accessories, or even a full outfit—every little bit counts.

📸 Snap a photo and share it in the comments below to help spread awareness and support!

Let’s show up, stand together, and start conversations that matter. 💚

Some days you’ll feel strong, motivated, and hopeful. Other days may feel heavy, messy, or like you’ve taken ten steps backward. That doesn’t mean you’re failing—it means you’re human.

Growth often looks like progress, setbacks, rest, resilience, and starting again… sometimes all in the same week.

Be gentle with yourself in the process. Your mental health journey doesn’t need to be perfect to be meaningful. 💚

💚 I am strong enough.
💚 I am kind enough.
💚 I am enough.

Sometimes affirmations aren’t declarations—they’re practice. Words we return to when self-doubt is loud and belief feels far away.

At Karuna Counseling, we sit with the parts of you that are still learning to trust these truths. Therapy is a safe space to gently challenge old narratives, build self-compassion, and grow into the belief that you already are enough.

🔸Offering telehealth & in-person therapy across Nebraska & North Carolina.

🔸Accepting new clients.

If these words feel familiar—even if you don’t fully believe them yet—support is here.
