Your idea could help make downtown Sitka safer for everyone.
Entry forms for the Crosswalk Safety Design Ideas Project are now available at both the Sitka Public Library and City Hall. Pick up a form, sketch your idea, and help create a temporary crosswalk safety demonstration project on Lincoln Street.
We're looking for earth-tone geometric patterns that help draw attention to existing crosswalks and promote pedestrian safety downtown. No artistic experience is required, and there is no limit to the number of entries you can submit.

Entries are due by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24.
This project grew out of Sitka's participation in the Walkability Action Institute, a grant-funded program focused on improving walkability and pedestrian safety. Selected designs will be showcased at Harrigan Centennial Hall on June 25 at 6:00 p.m., and may be incorporated into a temporary demonstration project later this summer.
Take a look at the display the next time you're at City Hall or the Library.
