❤️ Thank You for Walking With Us! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who joined us Wednesday morning for our August Walk With a Doc at the Soldotna Field House!

A special thank you to Angelica Blake, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, with Alaska Heart & Vascular Institute, for leading a great conversation about heart health and reminding us that small, everyday choices can add up to big results. From getting about 120 minutes of exercise each week and prioritizing good sleep to watching your blood pressure and making healthy food choices, there are plenty of ways to give your heart a little extra care.

We were also fortunate to have Kylie Brown, RN, with Central Peninsula Hospital Cardiac Rehab, join us and add her expertise to the conversation. Thank you, Kylie!

And, of course, everyone went home with a pair of resistance bands to help keep the momentum going! 💪

📅 Save the date for our next Walk With a Doc: Wednesday, September 2!

We’re looking forward to welcoming Dr. Stacy Wells with Peninsula Radiation Oncology Center, who will discuss radiation therapy for benign diseases—an interesting look at how radiation therapy can be used to treat certain non-cancerous conditions.

Thanks again to everyone who came out to walk, learn, ask questions, and start the day with us. We’ll see you in September! Shout out to Soldotna Parks & Recreation for partnering with us to Walk With a Doc!👟

🚧 Temporary Parking & Traffic Changes at Central Peninsula Hospital 🚧
Beginning in August, visitors may notice temporary parking and traffic changes on our campus as we complete important electrical infrastructure improvements near the River Tower.
Here's what to expect:
📅 August 8–9
• Traffic will be temporarily closed around the River Tower while crews complete a portion of the project.
📅 August 12–16
• A temporary traffic pattern will be in place around the River Tower. Access to the area will remain open, but vehicles will be detoured through the parking lot.
• Some parking spaces will be temporarily unavailable to allow larger construction vehicles to safely access the work area.
➡️ Please refer to the attached map for the temporary traffic route.
📅 August 29–30
• Temporary generators will be brought on site as the project is completed.
• The same temporary traffic pattern shown in the attached map will be in effect during this phase as well.
Please allow yourself a few extra minutes when arriving for appointments during these dates, and follow all posted signs and directions from staff.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these important improvements to help ensure the continued reliability of our campus infrastructure. Thank you for bearing with us while we make these upgrades!

💙 Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Dave & Betty Lowery 💙

For nearly 23 years, Dave and Betty Lowery have been welcoming patients, visitors, and families with kindness, compassion, and a smile at Central Peninsula Hospital.

Dave holds a special place in CPH history as our very first Information Desk volunteer when the program began. Today, he and Betty still volunteer side by side every Friday morning throughout the summer before heading to Arizona for the winter.

Their servant hearts, unwavering commitment to our community, and countless hours of service have touched the lives of so many. They embody what it means to care for others, and we are incredibly grateful to have them as part of the CPH family.

As if that weren't enough to celebrate, this year Dave and Betty are also marking an amazing 63 years of marriage! ❤️

Please join us in congratulating Dave and Betty on this remarkable milestone and thanking them for the many years they've dedicated to serving our community.

Happy Anniversary, Dave and Betty—and thank you for all you do! 💙
