BFTC Somerset ADT Space Week | July 6–10

This week we're taking learning to new heights with Space Week! Participants will enjoy a variety of fun, hands-on activities, including building and launching water rockets, learning about star constellations, and exploring the wonders of space. We'll wrap up the week with a lunch outing to Big City Pizza.

During these activities it helps our individuals build social skills, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and confidence through engaging, hands-on activities in a fun and supportive environment."

It's going to be a fun week full of learning, creativity, and great memories!

Last week BFTC Somerset ADT ended camp week with a relaxing nature walk, cooled off with patriotic Bomb Pop slushies, and had fun making a delicious s'mores dip. Farm Week Fun at BFTC ADT!

Our clients have had a great time during Farm Week participating in a variety of hands-on activities! This week included gardening, learning about growing plants, a fun watermelon rubber band challenge to see how many rubber bands it takes to make a watermelon burst, and face painting.

These activities help individuals develop important skills such as teamwork, communication, following directions, problem-solving, fine motor skills, and social interaction. Most importantly, they provide opportunities to build confidence while having fun with friends.

We are looking forward to finishing out a great Farm Week and making even more memories!

Farm Week Kicks Off at Somerset BFTC ADT!

This week, June 22–26, our clients are celebrating Farm Week with fun, hands-on activities and learning experiences. Clients will enjoy trips to Rural King and Burnett Farms, along with lessons about growing plants such as peppers, beans, and tomatoes. We have also transformed our ADT with farm-themed decorations and interactive games to make learning engaging and exciting.

These activities help individuals with intellectual disabilities build important life skills such as following directions, problem-solving, communication, patience, and teamwork. Learning how plants grow encourages responsibility and provides a better understanding of where food comes from, while community outings help increase social interaction and confidence in community settings.

We are excited for a week full of learning, growth, and farm fun!

Carnival Week has been a great time so far at BFTC ADT! Our clients have enjoyed a variety of carnival-themed games, kickball, fresh popcorn, and a special trip to the Pulaski County Fair's Inclusive Day.

These activities provide much more than just fun. They help individuals with intellectual disabilities build social skills, improve communication, practice teamwork, increase physical activity, and gain confidence in community settings. Experiences like these also encourage independence, create opportunities for meaningful friendships, and promote overall emotional well-being.

We are proud to see our clients stepping outside their comfort zones, making memories, and enjoying all the excitement Carnival Week has to offer

Carnival Week is Underway at Somerset Brighter Futures ADT!

Yesterday kicked off our exciting Carnival Week (June 15–19) at Somerset Brighter Futures ADT! Clients enjoyed a variety of carnival-themed games, challenges, and activities, with even more fun ahead including snow cones, popcorn, prizes, and plenty of smiles.

Beyond the fun, these activities help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities build important life skills. Carnival games encourage social interaction, communication, turn-taking, problem-solving, following directions, hand-eye coordination, and self-confidence. Participating in group activities also promotes emotional well-being while creating opportunities for friendship, teamwork, and community inclusion.
We're looking forward to a week filled with laughter, learning, and memorable experiences for everyone involved!
