What a beautiful day for an outing! 🌿☀️

The other day was spent exploring peaceful walking paths, scenic landscapes, and the vibrant orchid conservatory at Duke Farms. Along the way, there were opportunities for observation and engagement with natural history and wildlife, including the live eagle cam!

Your voice matters!

Do you have ideas, concerns, or suggestions about services for older adults and individuals 18+ living with disabilities in Somerset County? Now is your chance to make an impact.

The Somerset County, NJ Office on Aging and Disability Services (OoADS), in partnership with the Aging Advisory Council, is hosting a public hearing on Wednesday, June 10th, from 10:30–11:30 a.m. at the Senior Wellness Center at Bridgewater. Community input is essential to identifying needs, improving programs, and ensuring resources reflect the priorities of those they serve.

Whether you are an older adult, caregiver, family member, professional, or advocate, your feedback can help influence planning and services provided locally.

This Nurses Week feels especially meaningful for all of us at Nightingale.

Yesterday, Ava, our incredible Office Manager, was officially pinned at Raritan Valley Community College as a Registered Nurse — and we could not be more proud.

Anyone who knows Ava knows she never does anything halfway. She leads with heart, dedication, compassion, and determination in everything she does. So it feels only fitting that during Nurses Week, she reached this extraordinary milestone and officially joined the nursing profession.

Ava has already touched so many lives through her kindness, support, and commitment to helping others, and we know she will bring that same warmth and excellence to nursing.

Supporting older adults means supporting the communities around them, too.

We were grateful for the opportunity to participate in two meaningful events recently: Hamilton Township Public Library's first-ever Compassion & Care Fair and the New Jersey Advocates for Aging Well (NJAAW) Conference.

Both events brought together caregivers, professionals, and community organizations working toward better support for older adults and their families.

Some calls stay with you. This one brought us to San Francisco.

Pictured here is Chris Kellogg, Co-Founder of NightingaleNJ, standing in front of the Bay Bridge — a fitting reminder that the best care is built on connection, trust, and ensuring an older adult’s voice is never lost along the way.

Recently, a family we’ve supported through some of life’s most difficult chapters reached out once again when a loved one in California experienced a significant medical change. Over the years, we had the privilege of supporting her mother, father, and husband through challenging transitions — so when her uncle needed help, she knew exactly who she wanted involved.

Like many older adults, he initially insisted he was fine and didn’t believe he needed additional support.

She asked him one simple question:
“What if NightingaleNJ became involved?”

His response was powerful:
“If they’re helping, then I’m comfortable… because I know what they meant to our family.”

Moments like that remind us that the true heart of is not simply care coordination, assessments, or crisis management. It is trust.

Trust built over years.
Trust built during difficult conversations.
Trust built during some of the most vulnerable moments in a family’s life.

Following a comprehensive assessment, it became clear he would benefit most from excellent ongoing local support in California. Because of the trusted professional relationships we’ve built over many years with colleagues across the country, we were able to transition his care to the compassionate team at Sage Eldercare Solutions — a team both we and the family felt confident trusting to continue supporting him.
