As we age, staying hydrated becomes more challenging as thirst becomes less noticeable and medications can increase fluid loss. Staying hydrated (especially in this heat) is even more important for maintaining energy, supporting brain function, and promoting overall well-being. Small daily habits can make a big difference!

💦 Drink regularly—even before you feel thirsty.
🥤 Keep a water bottle within easy reach.
🍵 Enjoy hydrating options like herbal tea, soups, and water-rich fruits and vegetables.
🍽️ Have a glass of water before meals and when taking medications (unless your healthcare provider has given different instructions).
☕ Limit caffeine and alcohol, which can contribute to dehydration.

Healthy hydration starts with simple choices every day. Share these tips with someone who could use a friendly reminder! 💚

For home health and hospice patients, Medicare requires admission within 48 hours of receiving an order to all agencies, but our team strives to provide care within 24 hours or less whenever possible. ❤️ We know every moment matters, and we’re grateful to help patients and families receive the comfort, support, and peace they deserve when it matters most.

As a HomeCare and Hospice company, we work with many other health care entities to provide the best care and support for our patients. Applegate HomeCare & Hospice has been grateful to work alongside Oasis Homes since opening our southern Utah branch. We deeply appreciated our partnership with the previous owners and are excited to continue that relationship with the new owners, Mike and Errin.

Mike and Errin have done a fantastic job providing clean, welcoming homes and exceptional care for residents across their multiple Oasis Homes locations throughout St. George, Washington, and Hurricane. We are also incredibly thankful for the trust they have placed in Applegate to provide home health and hospice services within their communities.
