We are proud to announce that Tim Casto, Maintenance Supervisor at Miletree Center, has been honored with the Individual Excellence Award through the West Virginia Health Care Association!

For the past 15 years, Tim has been an invaluable part of the Miletree family. His incredible knowledge and expertise span everything from carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, roofing, and more. Simply put—there isn't much Tim can't do! His dedication and skill have not only saved countless resources over the years but have also helped keep our facility looking beautiful and operating at the highest standards.

What truly makes Tim exceptional, however, is his heart. He takes tremendous pride in his work, always goes above and beyond for our residents and staff, and is known for his positive attitude and willingness to help anyone in need. Whether he's responding to an emergency, completing a work order, or stopping to chat with residents, Tim always does so with a smile.

His commitment to excellence has helped Miletree Center achieve outstanding safety and maintenance records, but his greatest impact is the care and compassion he shows every day to those around him.

🎉 Congratulations to Michelle Kunkel, Our Director of Nursing of the Year! 🎉

We are incredibly proud to announce that Michelle Kunkel, Director of Nursing at Miletree Center, has been honored with the Director of Nursing of the Year Award through the West Virginia Health Care Association!

Michelle exemplifies everything a great leader should be—kindness, professionalism, integrity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to both residents and staff. Her journey in long-term care began in 1998 as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and through hard work, determination, and dedication, she advanced to LPN, RN, and ultimately Director of Nursing. This unique experience allows her to connect with and advocate for her team because she has walked in their shoes every step of the way.

Michelle leads by example, never hesitating to roll up her sleeves and assist wherever needed. She is a mentor, educator, and champion for her staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, transparency, and continuous growth. Her daily clinical huddles, open communication, and commitment to sharing knowledge have helped create an environment where everyone feels supported and empowered to succeed.

Her leadership extends far beyond our facility. Michelle has assisted sister facilities throughout the state, volunteered her expertise during surveys and compliance initiatives, and dedicated countless hours to educating healthcare professionals. She has also played an active role in community service projects, always eager to help others and make a difference.

Under Michelle's clinical leadership, Miletree Center has achieved outstanding outcomes, earned a 4.8-star Google rating, received recognition for low rehospitalization rates, and continues to provide exceptional care to our residents and families.

Michelle's impact is immeasurable, and this award is a well-deserved recognition of her dedication, expertise, and heart for serving others.

⭐ Resident of the Week ⭐

This week, we are excited to highlight Diana Carpenter as our Resident of the Week!

Diana is a wonderful part of the Miletree Center family and can often be found participating in some of her favorite activities, including bingo, culinary class, and painting. She is always a friendly face around the facility, loves meeting new people, and makes everyone feel welcome and included.

A fun fact about Diana is that she once worked right here at Miletree Center in the housekeeping department! Her connection to our facility spans many years, making her an even more special member of our community.

Diana comes from a large family and was one of nine children. She also has a beautiful family of her own, with three children.

Thank you, Diana, for bringing kindness, positivity, and friendship to those around you. We are so happy to have you as part of our Miletree Center family! ❤️

🎉 Congratulations to Sheila on her successful discharge home! 🎉

As Sheila said her goodbyes, she shared how truly blown away she was by the amazing care she received at Miletree Center. She spoke highly of our friendly and caring staff, who helped make her stay comfortable and positive every step of the way.

Sheila also praised our incredible therapy team, crediting them for helping her achieve a speedy recovery and regain her strength and independence.

We are so proud of all the hard work and determination Sheila showed throughout her journey. It has been a pleasure being part of her recovery, and we wish her continued health, happiness, and success at home!

There’s nothing better than sharing good treats, great conversation, and lots of laughter together. Our residents had such a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying every sip of these creamy, tasty milkshakes.

Sue loves spending time outdoors and enjoying the simple things in life. She previously worked at Dairy Queen and has many wonderful memories of spending time with and watching her grandchildren grow up.

Miletree is incredibly fortunate to have someone as dedicated and hardworking as Mark on our team. As our maintenance professional, he takes tremendous pride in our building and consistently goes above and beyond to make sure our residents feel safe, comfortable, and truly at home.

Whether it’s responding quickly to a need, keeping our community looking its best, or simply showing kindness and care to everyone he meets, Mark’s commitment shines through in everything he does. Our residents had an absolute blast today enjoying a competitive game of our own version of Hungry Hippos! 🦛🎉 There were lots of laughs, cheering, and friendly competition as everyone raced to collect as many balls as they could.

It’s always wonderful seeing our residents having fun, staying active, and sharing smiles together during activities like these. The competitive spirit was definitely alive today, and everyone had a great time joining in on the excitement! ❤️

We love creating fun and memorable moments for our residents every day!
