Our residents had a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of fun during our Balloon Toss Activity! 🎈😊

Everyone enjoyed tossing colorful balloons, working together, and staying active while sharing smiles and great conversations. Activities like these help promote social engagement, coordination, and most importantly, create joyful memories with friends.

🐰💕 A Special Visit from Some Adorable Guests! 💕🐰

Today brought plenty of smiles to Miletree Center thanks to Stephanie and her precious baby bunnies!

Our residents were delighted to spend time cuddling, petting, and admiring these sweet little furballs. The room was filled with laughter, conversation, and lots of happy memories as everyone enjoyed this special visit.

Animal visits are always a favorite, and these baby bunnies certainly stole the show! Their soft fur, playful personalities, and adorable faces brought so much joy to our residents and staff alike.

A huge thank you to Stephanie for sharing her baby bunnies with us and helping create such a wonderful experience for everyone. ❤️

🐾 Have You Met Our Famous Feline Friends? 🐾

Have you ever been to Miletree Center? If so, you've probably noticed our favorite orange cats, Tigger and Hank!

These two friendly boys have become beloved members of our Miletree family. They love spending time with our residents and can often be found sitting on laps, soaking up the sunshine in the flower beds, or relaxing on the front porch. Wherever they go, smiles are sure to follow!

Tigger and Hank bring comfort, companionship, and plenty of joy to our residents each and every day. Their gentle personalities and affectionate cuddles make them a favorite among staff, residents, and visitors alike.

In this photo, you can see Ms. Vickie enjoying some afternoon cuddles with one of our furry friends. Moments like these remind us how special the bond between animals and people can be. ❤️

🎉 Congratulations to Tim Casto! 🎉

We are proud to announce that Tim Casto, Maintenance Supervisor at Miletree Center, has been honored with the Individual Excellence Award through the West Virginia Health Care Association!

For the past 15 years, Tim has been an invaluable part of the Miletree family. His incredible knowledge and expertise span everything from carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, roofing, and more. Simply put—there isn't much Tim can't do! His dedication and skill have not only saved countless resources over the years but have also helped keep our facility looking beautiful and operating at the highest standards.

What truly makes Tim exceptional, however, is his heart. He takes tremendous pride in his work, always goes above and beyond for our residents and staff, and is known for his positive attitude and willingness to help anyone in need. Whether he's responding to an emergency, completing a work order, or stopping to chat with residents, Tim always does so with a smile.

His commitment to excellence has helped Miletree Center achieve outstanding safety and maintenance records, but his greatest impact is the care and compassion he shows every day to those around him.

🎉 Congratulations to Michelle Kunkel, Our Director of Nursing of the Year! 🎉

We are incredibly proud to announce that Michelle Kunkel, Director of Nursing at Miletree Center, has been honored with the Director of Nursing of the Year Award through the West Virginia Health Care Association!

Michelle exemplifies everything a great leader should be—kindness, professionalism, integrity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to both residents and staff. Her journey in long-term care began in 1998 as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and through hard work, determination, and dedication, she advanced to LPN, RN, and ultimately Director of Nursing. This unique experience allows her to connect with and advocate for her team because she has walked in their shoes every step of the way.

Michelle leads by example, never hesitating to roll up her sleeves and assist wherever needed. She is a mentor, educator, and champion for her staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, transparency, and continuous growth. Her daily clinical huddles, open communication, and commitment to sharing knowledge have helped create an environment where everyone feels supported and empowered to succeed.

Her leadership extends far beyond our facility. Michelle has assisted sister facilities throughout the state, volunteered her expertise during surveys and compliance initiatives, and dedicated countless hours to educating healthcare professionals. She has also played an active role in community service projects, always eager to help others and make a difference.

Under Michelle's clinical leadership, Miletree Center has achieved outstanding outcomes, earned a 4.8-star Google rating, received recognition for low rehospitalization rates, and continues to provide exceptional care to our residents and families.

Michelle's impact is immeasurable, and this award is a well-deserved recognition of her dedication, expertise, and heart for serving others.

⭐ Resident of the Week ⭐

This week, we are excited to highlight Diana Carpenter as our Resident of the Week!

Diana is a wonderful part of the Miletree Center family and can often be found participating in some of her favorite activities, including bingo, culinary class, and painting. She is always a friendly face around the facility, loves meeting new people, and makes everyone feel welcome and included.

A fun fact about Diana is that she once worked right here at Miletree Center in the housekeeping department! Her connection to our facility spans many years, making her an even more special member of our community.

Diana comes from a large family and was one of nine children. She also has a beautiful family of her own, with three children.

Thank you, Diana, for bringing kindness, positivity, and friendship to those around you. We are so happy to have you as part of our Miletree Center family! ❤️
