Cedarhurst Senior Living

Cedarhurst Senior Living We believe our communities are more than just a place to live, they are a place to call home.

At Cedarhurst, we believe our communities are more than just a place to live, it’s a place to call home. We know and believe that a real home isn’t just four walls and a place to hang your hat. Home is a place where friends and family gather, a place to entertain and share stories, a place for baking, playing games, gardening, exercising and most importantly -a place to thrive! Cedarhurst believes

in supporting a strong local community and encouraging our residents to stay involved with the community through events, outings and activities. We help build strong family relationships before, during and after the transition by offering support and including the family members in our care plans. Most of all, Cedarhurst is able to help you maintain your independence while offering safety, support and a more carefree lifestyle.

Curious what a day looks like for Karen?

It starts with inviting a friend to breakfast, then flows into activities throughout the day. Sometimes that means a little spontaneous baking, followed by sharing treats with friends during musical entertainment. She winds down with her favorite part of the day, a word search.

Fun fact: word searches help keep the mind active by supporting memory and focus.

Choosing Memory Care for a family member is a meaningful decision. One daughter shared how moving her mom into Cedarhurst of Blue Springs brought a sense of relief, knowing she is surrounded by people who genuinely care and treat her with kindness. The peace of mind that followed made a lasting difference, and it’s a step she wishes had been taken sooner.

“I just don’t want people to forget.” - Nate

At 102, Cedarhurst resident Nate chose to share his story with quiet purpose. A World War II veteran who served during the Battle of the Bulge, he carried these memories for decades before deciding to share his story.

At Cedarhurst of Lawrence, a space he calls “his shack,” Nate continues to build by hand, working at a table he designed himself. Pieces of handcrafted aircraft sit nearby, including an orange plane his son once test flew.

His story is one of service and a reminder that history lives through those who choose to share it.
