Every two years, Dr. Lannis Hall, a leader in cancer disparities outreach, and Siteman's Program for the Elimination of Cancer Disparities (PECaD) visit all three Hazelwood School District high schools, reaching approximately 2,500 young women through Stepping Up For Health: Know Your Risk.

The program empowers young women with lifesaving information about breast health, cancer prevention and the importance of knowing their family history and breast cancer risk by age 25.

New research could help train the immune system to recognize and attack glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer that remains one of the most treatment-resistant tumors in medicine.

Each patient’s tumor can contain unique proteins and molecular markers — cancer is biologically unique to the individual. The goal of this emerging therapy for glioblastoma — still in the early stages of development — is to create a more individualized treatment.
