At WCBL, everything starts with one question: What does this patient need to live the life they want?
Cartez has always pushed hard to stay active, but his previous feet and sockets couldn’t keep up with the demands of his day-to-day life. So WCBL prosthetist, Lauren Bogardus, designed a custom Symes posterior-mount carbon fiber foot built for support, durability, and energy return. His socket also features an integrated Medical RevoFit dial, giving him on-the-go adjustability to accommodate volume changes throughout the day. Lauren was also able to teach about the device mechanics and design and share this moment with Alicia, our resident.
This prosthesis was fabricated by our expert lab team specifically for his gait, his activity level, and his goals. Watching him walk outside in it for the first time was a moment worth celebrating.
