Part 2: Hormones + Your Heart: Timing Is Everything
A generation of women stopped hormone therapy, or never started it, because of one misread headline. Since then, the American Heart Association has reported that starting hormone therapy before 60, or within ten years of menopause, appears to be associated with lower cardiovascular risk. The FDA has now removed the boxed warnings for heart disease, breast cancer, and dementia from several menopausal hormone therapy labels.
Hormone therapy isn’t right for everyone. The right call comes from your history, your risk factors, and your labs, which is exactly why we look at your heart and your hormones side by side.
If you’re in your 40s or 50s and nobody has had this conversation with you, reach out.
