Turn playtime into language time.

You don’t need special activities to support your child’s language development. During play, model simple words consistently and pair them with actions.

In this activity, I’m modeling:
• “In”
• “Out”
• “More”

Your child doesn’t have to repeat the words. Hearing language over and over in a fun, meaningful context helps build understanding and supports communication. Simple interactions like these can make a big difference!

The best speech practice doesn’t happen during flashcards, it happens during everyday routines. 💛 Bath time, meals, getting dressed, and cleaning up all create natural opportunities to model words, encourage imitation, and build communication. Start with what you’re already doing every day! Save this for later and share with another parent.

Why teach sign language to babies and toddlers? Signs give little ones a way to communicate before they can talk. Signs do not prevent speech, they support it by reducing frustration and building understanding. Teaching signs like more, eat, and all done helps bridge the gap until words are clear. Always say the word out loud as you sign to support spoken language.
