Research continues to support physical therapy as an effective treatment for knee osteoarthritis.

A 2025 evidence review found that exercise-based physical therapy—including strengthening, aerobic, and aquatic exercise—can help decrease knee pain and improve function, with benefits that may last for months.
The key? Your exercises should be individualized to you. A physical therapist can help determine what is contributing to your knee pain and develop a progressive plan to improve strength, mobility, and confidence with movement.

Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) both help people move, function, and live more independently—but they focus on different pieces of the puzzle!

🏃 Physical Therapy (PT) focuses primarily on movement and mobility. PTs may help with:
Strength, balance, and coordination
Walking and mobility
Pain and injury recovery
Fall prevention
Vestibular/balance disorders
Recovering after surgery or injury

🧩 Occupational Therapy (OT) focuses on helping you safely and independently perform the activities that make up everyday life. OTs may help with:
Dressing, bathing, and grooming
Fine motor skills
Hand and upper-extremity function
Returning to work or hobbies
Adaptive equipment and strategies
Cognitive and functional skills

Many patients benefit from both disciplines. PT can help you move better, while OT can help you use those abilities to participate in the activities that matter most to you. Not sure which discipline is right for you? Give us a call to learn if we can help!

Physical therapy is more than treating pain—it’s helping you move better for life.

A recent systematic review of 36 clinical trials involving more than 6,000 older adults found that home-based exercise programs can improve strength and aerobic fitness.
But here’s the important part: the quality of the exercise program matters.

Physical therapists help you determine:
✔️ Which exercises are right for you
✔️ How much exercise you actually need
✔️ How to progress safely
✔️ How to modify exercises when something isn’t working
✔️ How to turn exercise into something you can actually maintain

You don’t have to wait until you’re injured or struggling to move to see a physical therapist. PT can help you build strength, improve balance, maintain independence, and keep doing the activities you love.

Nagging elbow pain that just won't go away? It could be tendonitis.

Pain on the outside or inside of your elbow isn't just something athletes experience. Repetitive activities like typing, gardening, lifting, painting, golfing, or playing tennis can all irritate the tendons around the elbow.

Common symptoms include:
✔️ Pain when gripping or lifting
✔️ Tenderness around the elbow
✔️ Weakness with everyday tasks like opening a jar or carrying groceries

The good news? Rest alone often isn't enough—but physical therapy can help.

At our clinic, we'll identify what's causing the irritation, reduce your pain, and create a personalized plan to strengthen the muscles and tendons so you can get back to the activities you enjoy without pain.

Did You Know?

Up to 1 in 2 adults will experience a musculoskeletal injury or pain condition that could benefit from physical therapy during their lifetime.

Low back pain is the leading cause of disability worldwide, and exercise-based physical therapy is recommended as a first-line treatment.

💪 Physical Therapy Works

People with low back pain who see a physical therapist early are less likely to need imaging, injections, surgery, or opioids.

Exercise therapy can reduce chronic pain by 30–50% for many musculoskeletal conditions.

Physical therapy after joint replacement can improve strength, mobility, and independence while helping people return to daily activities sooner.
