I found this on a walk this week, one of those slow ones without a destination or a podcast. Just moving and looking.
A leaf in the shape of a heart, a little chewed through, resting on an old board in the sun.
We've been talking this month about the different kinds of rest we need. Mental rest is one of them, and for me that sometimes looks like stepping outside and letting my eyes land on something other than a screen.
I almost walked past this. I'm glad I didn't.
Therapists sometimes call these moments glimmers: small things that catch the light just right and remind your nervous system that the world is still full of good things. You don't have to go looking for them. You just have to slow down enough to see them.
What's been catching your eye lately?
