🦆🌊 Adventure Therapy in Action! 🌊🦆

Over two weeks, residents worked together to design and build rafts using identical materials, with the goal of floating across the pool. Teams created a unique identity by naming their raft and rubber ducky captain, developing a story for their vessel, and creating a team cheer.

This fun, hands-on challenge fostered teamwork, communication, problem-solving, creativity, and group cohesion while strengthening meaningful connections.

Note: The names shown in the photos are the residents’ Primary Therapists. 💙

🚛✨ Keep Truckin’ on the Road to Recovery ✨🚛.

At Sierra Tucson, the journey doesn’t end when treatment does. For nearly four decades, our annual Sierra Tucson Alumni Retreat (S.T.A.R.) has brought alumni together to reconnect, recharge, and keep moving forward on the road to recovery.

This fall, we’re celebrating 39 years of Reconnection, Recovery & Renewal with a special weekend designed exclusively for Sierra Tucson alumni. From sunrise hikes and restorative wellness experiences to meaningful workshops, support groups, and a return visit to campus, S.T.A.R. is a powerful reminder that no one has to travel this road alone.

This year’s “Keep Truckin’” theme celebrates the resilience, growth, and determination that carry our alumni forward every day. No matter where the road has taken them since treatment, S.T.A.R. offers a chance to pull off the highway for a weekend of connection, reflection, and support with a community that truly understands the journey.

We’re honored to continue investing in our alumni community and creating opportunities for lifelong connection, healing, and growth.

💙 Here’s to 39 years of keeping recovery rolling—and many more miles ahead.

🐢 Monsoon Mode: Activated! 🌧️

After spending last week’s scorching desert heat tucked away in his burrow, Shelldon is finally back out and about! With cooler temperatures and refreshing monsoon weather rolling in, our favorite desert tortoise is taking full advantage of the change—strolling the campus, soaking in the fresh air, and enjoying every moment of this desert reprieve. 💚

Looks like Shelldon agrees: everything’s better after a good rain. ☔🐢

At Sierra Tucson, we understand that veteran experiences and first responder careers can come with challenges that extend far beyond the ordinary. That’s why we developed our Service Resiliency Unit (SRU)—a specialized program designed to support those who have dedicated their lives to serving others.

Our SRU offers comprehensive, personalized treatment for trauma, PTSD, substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health concerns. Through evidence-based therapies and whole-person care, patients receive the support they need to heal in a safe, structured environment surrounded by the natural beauty of our 160-acre campus.

For referral partners, the SRU provides a trusted option for individuals who may benefit from specialized, culturally informed care delivered by a team that understands the unique experiences of those who serve.

We are honored to help veterans and first responders build resilience, find recovery, and reclaim their well-being.
