Kids are going to make mistakes.
They're going to lose their patience.
They're going to say things they don't mean. 😅

Instead of making every mistake feel like a failure, sometimes give them the opportunity to try again.

Try saying:

💛 “Let's take a breath and try that again.”
💛 “How could we handle that differently?”
💛 “You can have another chance.”

You're still teaching boundaries and accountability, but you're also showing them that making a mistake doesn't mean they're a bad person.

Sometimes the best lesson is simply learning how to do better the next time.

Plan it before the event day.

Your first instinct might be to jump in when your child is struggling.

But sometimes, the best thing you can do is pause. 💛

Let them try.

Let them make mistakes.

Let them figure out what works.

Instead of immediately saying, “Here, let me do it,” try:

“What do you think you should try next?”
“Want a hint?”
“Would you like help, or do you want to try by yourself?”

You don't have to leave them frustrated or struggling alone. The goal is to give them enough support to keep going while still allowing them to experience the “I DID IT!” moment.

Those little moments build confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills over time.

And yes… sometimes they'll still ask you to do it for them. 😂 That's parenting!

Ever ask your child to do something and suddenly hear “NO!”? 😅

Sometimes giving children too many choices, or no choice at all, can make everyday situations harder.

Try giving them two simple options instead.

“Do you want the red shirt or the blue shirt?”
“Do you want to brush your teeth before or after your story?”
“Do you want to clean up the blocks or the crayons first?”

You're still setting the boundary, but your child gets a little sense of control within it.

It won't magically prevent every meltdown 😂, but it can make everyday transitions feel a lot easier.

Another weekend, another city. ✈️🗽

We had a great time at Fanatics Fest NYC helping families enjoy the event while the kids had a space of their own to play, create, and have fun. From face painting and balloon art to glitertattoos and live music there was never a dull moment!

Huge thank you to our incredible team and all of the talented vendors we worked alongside. We love being part of events that make it easier for parents to enjoy the experience, too.
