September 11, 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of a day that forever changed our nation and our communities. As medical providers serving New Jersey, many of us experienced the events of September 11 firsthand, personally and professionally, as we cared for and supported our patients, families, and neighbors. Even today, as we regularly see the lower New York skyline from the Jersey side, the view of then and now serves as a powerful reminder.

We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless first responders, healthcare workers, volunteers, and everyday heroes who stepped forward to help.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor their courage, remember their sacrifice, and remain grateful for the privilege of caring for and serving our community.

September is and this September, we’re shining a light on ovarian cancer and encouraging women to know the signs, listen to their bodies, and speak with their healthcare provider about any changes that concern them.

Ovarian cancer can be difficult to detect early because its symptoms can be subtle and may be mistaken for other conditions. There is currently no reliable screening test for ovarian cancer in women at average risk, making awareness of symptoms especially important.

Know the signs:
Persistent bloating
Pelvic or abdominal pain
Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly
Urinary urgency or increased frequency

These symptoms can have many causes, but if they are new, persistent, or unusual for you, don’t ignore them. Talk with your healthcare provider about what you’re experiencing.
Wear teal this month, start the conversation, and help spread awareness.
