What began as a visiting nurse program evolved into an expanding network of services that laid the foundation for Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.

Join us in welcoming Dr. Ramaraj to Pediatric Surgery.

They were drawn to surgery because of its hands-on nature and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients and their families. Dr. Ramaraj’s clinical interests include surgical oncology, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, and improving access to surgical care.

We had a howling good time at our main hospital and Children’s Pavilion today as CHKD’s frighteningly cute Buddy Brigade and their handlers put on a spooktacular parade! 🐶🧡

Join us in welcoming Dr. Mark Fleming II to Pediatric Surgery.

His clinical interests include pediatric and neonatal surgery, robotic surgery, and conditions of the aerodigestive system. He was inspired by his childhood pediatrician, who demonstrated the importance of providing compassionate, human-centered care to every patient.

to 1916, when The King's Daughters for CHKD purchased a residence on West York Street and established The King's Daughters Children's Clinic.

By then, services had expanded to include care for children and maternity services for mothers throughout the community. The King's Daughters continued expanding services to meet the needs of children and families throughout Hampton Roads.
