Last week we held our annual Chill & Grill picnic, a highlight of the year at Ka Lima O Maui, bringing together our entire ‘ohana for a joyful day of celebration. It’s a time we recognize everyone’s hard work, enjoy ono food, and fill the air with laughter and friendly talk story. Staff, participants, and their families all come together, sharing stories, building friendships, and strengthening the bonds that make Ka Lima such a welcoming community 🤝

Rufus, our beloved support cat, has been in treatforce training and is making fantastic progress 👏 He now happily responds to commands, always ready to show off his skills for a tasty treat 😼 We just love how Rufus brings joy and smiles to the whole team!

Check it out 👀 Vincent Mina, founder of Upcycling Maui, is making a significant impact on the local community by leading innovative efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle ♻️ Through his initiatives, he is not only helping to divert waste from landfills but also creating valuable job opportunities for Ka Lima O Maui crews. Happy Aloha Friday from Rufus, our lovable support cat 😼 He’s been part of our Medicaid Waiver family for about six months now, and he's already made a big impact with his sweet personality that brings smiles and comfort to all.

Rufus's gentle nature and soft purrs have a magical way of easing anxiety and brightening everyone's day. Rufus seems to know just when someone needs extra love, making him a furry, irreplaceable member of our Medicaid Waiver community.

We are happy to share with you The Village Hui, a virtual peer-to-peer support group offered by Family Hui Hawaii for parents and caregivers raising children with developmental, physical, or intellectual disabilities. The group provides a welcoming space for families to connect, talk story, share experiences, and support one another. The Village Hui meets virtually on Thursdays from 10-11:30 am, through October 1, 2026. Register Now!
