Ready to Rock?

Come join the Roman Music Therapy Services Jam Band!

We are continuing to celebrate 20 years of Roman Music therapy Services with our monthly Celebration Series events!

For our June Event, teens and adults are invited to drop in on Friday, June 26th, and hop on a variety of melodic and percussion instruments.

The group will collaboratively choose music and instruments to jam along to with Programmatic Specialist, Collin Pickett, and Programmatic Music Assistant, Sam Nudler.

Event Details:
📅 Date: Friday, June 26th, 2026
🕖 Time: 3:15-4:15pm
📍 Location: Roman Music Therapy Services, 333 North Ave. Wakefield, MA
🎤Who: Teens and adults of all abilities, ages 16+ (suggested age range). This is open to the public, whether you are a current or former client, or if it will be your first time making music with us! Maximum of 10 participants.
💲Cost: $10 per participant, to pay at the door (cash or card). Please contact us if cost is a barrier.

Support staff or caregivers who are attending solely to assist do not need to purchase a ticket.

Our next 20th Anniversary blog post is live on our website!

We connected with Kristina to reflect on how Sprouting Melodies became more than just a music class for her and her daughter, Cecilia, during the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a way to introduce music into Cecilia’s life grew into a meaningful source of connection, routine, and community during an isolating time.

Kristina shared: “It was something we could look forward to every week. It gave us connection during a time when that was really hard to find.”

🥁We are reflecting back on the last couple of months and we are excited to introduce our March 2026 PALS recipients, Lauren Goggin from Communitas!

Lauren consistently has been an important contact at Communitas in Wakefield, encouraging and advocating for music therapy for the clients they serve.

Lauren encourages individuals to sign up and participate in the Communitas Youth and Adult groups in the evenings on Tuesdays.

Each month, Roman Music Therapy Services continues to hand out rewards for the PALS Recognition program as our way to thank the forces in our communities, whether it's a individuals OR organization, who help make music therapy services possible!

🎉This week we are celebrating Collin's one year work anniversary at Roman Music Therapy Services!

How the time flies- it feels like yesterday that Collin came through our doors.

Collin has been such a reliable, grounded presence on our team, and we are grateful for all he brings to his role.

He brings a unique perspective with his extensive experience in hospice and palliative care.

His clinical presence continues to grow, and we can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Play along with us next week!

As part of our 20th anniversary celebration series, we are hosting "Music in May: 20 Questions" on our Instagram page next week!

You already know the game “20 questions” – now we are going to make it 20 questions for 20 years!

Every day between May 18th – 22nd, there will be 4 questions for our community of followers. Questions like “This or That?”, trivia questions, song sharing, and more! (4 questions x 5 days = 20 questions!)

We invite you to play along and answer these questions in either our Instagram stories or by commenting on the post – for each question that you answer during the week, you will earn a raffle entry for a tongue drum!

The tongue drum is a beautiful instrument, great for kids and adults!

The raffle winner will be pulled on Wednesday, May 27th!

Earlier this week, members of the Roman Music Therapy Services team had a wonderful time at the 2026 Conference for the Massachusetts Early Intervention Consortium (MEIC)!

Shannon and Jen held down the Roman Music Therapy Services table, and Kylie and MacKenzie gave a phenomenal presentation on music development.

Owen was one of our Music Therapy Interns earlier this year. Now, he has rejoined the team officially as a Programmatic Specialist!

Are you looking for a music therapy group to make music and meet new friends, while fostering communication, socialization, and creativity?

Check out the youth & adult music therapy groups in partnership with Communitas Recreation!

There are some openings in this session - head to the link tree in our bio to sign up!

The groups run every other week on Tuesday afternoons from 4:00-4:45pm (youth) and 5:00-5:45 (adult). The session dates for this year are:

Session 2: 5/5/26 – 8/11/26
Session 3: 8/25/26 – 12/8/26
