MEET YOUR ACUPUNCTURIST + GUIDE

Meet Dr. Rick Powers. Dr. Powers has been working as a Chiropractor and Acupuncturist in the New Haven area for approximately 20 years. He recently decided to open his own acupuncture business Powers Acupuncture and is working out of the Chiropractic & Wellness Center of New Haven located at 59 Elm Street in New Haven, CT. Dr. Powers uses his experience as a Chiropractor and over 17 years as an Acupuncturist to access the body. His goal is to balance the body's flow of Qi (Chi) or vital energy to allow the body to heal itself and function at its optimal level. Dr. Powers graduated from New York Chiropractic College in 2004. He and his family moved to Connecticut immediately after and he has been practicing here ever since. In 2007 he began his journey in acupuncture and Chinese medicine which has been evolving ever since. He continuously studies different methods and techniques but really resonates with the Tam Healing System. In his free time, he likes spending time with his wife and 3 kids and his family in Vermont where he grew up.

Deonna Thomas is an intuitive spiritual guide, 500 hour Ayurvedic and trauma informed yoga instructor, reiki master, holistic life coach, sound healer, creatrix of Good Vibes Yoga Studio, and wellness coordinator at Turnbridge, a mental health and addiction rehab facility. Passion driven, her life’s purpose is to guide others through the struggles of life, offering space to be witnessed and supported, sharing holistic tools for embodied transformation. Her work is deeply rooted in spirituality, earth and energy based practices, healing emotional traumas and behavioral patterns, and honoring the light and shadow with. Through the use of intuitive yogic movement, reiki, crystal healing, sound healing, drumming, essential oil aromatherapy, breathwork, meditation, song and mantra, mudras, elemental shamanic rituals, astrology and moon magic, oracle readings, EFT tapping, life coaching techniques, peer supported mental health therapies, and eastern based holistic practices we find a source of medicine in healing the mind, body, and Soul together.

Gather around the pool and sacred fire for an etheric journey like non other with Good Vibes Yoga Studio Creatrix and Intuitive Spiritual Guide, Deonna Thomas, and Chiropractic Acupuncturist, Dr. Powers. Under the Waxing Gibbous Moon in Capricorn, experience energy clearing of space and body with the use of sacred herbal smoke, awaken intuition with a collective oracle reading, and activate the senses while guided through meditative breathwork enhanced with essential oils. Laying over the earth, moving and resting in gentle, grounding yoga poses that will release physical tension, and soften emotions and trauma that are held in the body on a cellular level while receiving the healing touch of reiki. Finding stillness as soothing sound vibrations wash over you and acupuncture realigns the energy of the meridian system. Sealing this spiritual ritual around the fire with sharing and support, being held and witnessed in a loving community space.
