We are saddened to share the passing of our dear friend and colleague, William “Bill” Beaulieu, on May 16, 2026.
Bill began his pharmacy career in Rhode Island in 1960, working in local independent pharmacies before opening his own, Warwick Prescription Center. After 26 years of dedicated service to his community, he transitioned to a second career in education at the University of Rhode Island. There, he inspired pharmacy students and nursing assistants, teaching them about non-prescription medications and devices and preparing them for internships and professional practice.
Throughout his life, Bill was deeply committed to serving vulnerable populations, especially seniors and veterans. Through the URI Outreach Program, he regularly visited senior centers to provide medication reviews and counseling. He also contributed his time and expertise at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol, building strong relationships with physicians and helping establish the pharmacy as a trusted healthcare resource.
Bill was an active and devoted member of the Rhode Island Pharmacists Association, serving in numerous leadership roles, including President. After his presidency, he continued to actively support the Association for another 30 years. Bill’s dedicated work as chair of the legislative committee over years helped shape meaningful relationships with legislators and contributed to Rhode Island becoming an early adopter of collaborative pharmacy practice.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bill had a love of golf, which he channeled into supporting one of the Association’s longest-running scholarship fundraising events, the Annual Golf Outing. He was also passionate about mentoring the next generation of pharmacists, encouraging young professionals to become involved and helping to cultivate future leaders in the field.
Bill’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched as a pharmacist, educator, mentor, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Please keep Bill's wife, Linda, and his family in your thoughts and prayers. There will be no public services, but friends and family are invited to celebrate by sharing your most treasured memories, stories, and photos of Bill with us.
