I'm Angie Given Smith, founder and an EAGALA Certified Equine Specialist.

I collaborate with Mental Health Professionals along with my herd of 6 horses to offer Equine Assisted Psychotherapy on my serene 5 acre ranch in Washington, Ut. I am Angie Given Smith, the founder of Desert Sky Equine Connection, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a lifelong resident of this community. As an EAGALA Certified Equine Specialist, I am dedicated to offering individuals the unique opportunity to engage in Equine Assisted Services. My work is centered on helping people connect with their inner selves and experience personal growth through meaningful interactions with horses. By providing these experiences, we aim to empower individuals to overcome challenges, build confidence, and enhance their overall well-being in a supportive and nurturing environment.

🦄 Sometimes, you just need to have a little fun!

While working with our teens this week, we decided not to take life too seriously and let a little unicorn magic into the arena! ✨

But all jokes aside, this boy truly is a unicorn. He has a special way of offering kindness, compassion, and support to everyone who spends time with him.

At Desert Sky Equine Connection, we’re reminded every day that horses have a way of meeting us exactly where we are and giving us what we need most. Sometimes, that’s a little laughter, sometimes it’s comfort, and sometimes it’s simply knowing we’re not alone. 🐴

🌅 The last night of our Women’s Group…

We spent our evening with the horses, watched the sunset, and took a beautiful hike back from the river — soaking in the quiet moments, the connection, and everything this group has shared together. 🤍🐴

There’s something special about ending one chapter surrounded by the herd and beginning to look forward to what’s next.

Frontline Equine Connection is a 6-week, trauma-informed equine-assisted psychotherapy group where you’ll work with horses through structured, ground-based activities. No riding. No horse experience needed.

Explore stress, emotions, relationships, identity, trauma, moral injury—and the things that can be hard to put into words.

No pressure to tell your story. Just come as you are.

We hear so much about the negatives of young adults, but honestly, my experience with this group has been overwhelmingly positive.

Watching them connect with the horses has reminded me just how much good, kindness, and potential there is in this generation.

I’m grateful I get to witness it firsthand. 💛🐴
