⚠️ DRIVERS: BEWARE OF BLIND INTERSECTIONS! ⚠️

July heat and rain have the corn growing up to 3 inches a day! 🌽While it's great for our farmers, tall corn stalks create massive blind spots at country road intersections.

Many rural crossings are unmarked—meaning there are NO stop or yield signs. It is entirely up to you to cross safely.

Before you cross, follow the "Stop, Look, Listen" rule:

- 🛑 Slow down or stop at every rural intersection, even if you
have the right of way.
- 👀 Look twice through the crop gaps for hidden vehicles or slow-
moving farm equipment.
- 👂 Roll down your windows to listen for oncoming engines if you
can't see.

A few extra seconds at a corner can save a life. Drive smart, stay alert, and share this to keep our community safe! 🚜🚗

Last week we had a special surprise for our Kankakee Community College (KCC) CNA students on their final day of clinicals with us!

Over the past several weeks, these students have dedicated their time to learning, serving our residents, and growing as future healthcare professionals.

They built close bonds with many residents right here at the Iroquois Resident Home! We held a certificate ceremony and send-off to celebrate their hard work- and what better way to do it than in front of their new friends in the resident home!

We are so proud of them and wish them the best on their healthcare journeys.🎓✨

Mo Matheson MSN, MBA, RN, nurse educator at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, has been named one of the Illinois Nurses Foundation's 2026 40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leaders!

The annual award recognizes 40 nurses younger than 40 from across Illinois who have demonstrated leadership and professional achievement in clinical practice, education, advocacy, research, innovation, service and leadership. The honorees represent hospitals, healthcare systems, universities and community organizations across the state!
