Trailways Counseling We’re a passionate group of professionals that go the extra mile to provide counseling and mental health services that are customized for each individual.

Our clinicians are trauma-informed, person-centered in their approach and believe that recovery is possible. Currently, we are accepting referrals from individuals enrolled in their county’s CCS program or private pay. Our clinicians will see consumers age 4 and older. We provide outpatient therapy in southern and western Wisconsin and Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) in Columbia, Dane, Dodg

e, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe and Sauk Counties. We currently accept TRICARE, Anthem, United Healthcare, WEA Trust, WPS, Medicaid and GHC Eau Claire. We also have private pay options. We have virtual and in-person appointments available.

Trailways Counseling will be closed on Friday, June 19th in recognition of Juneteenth: Freedom Day. We invite our staff, clients, community partners, friends, and family to join in honoring the resilience of our fellow Black Americans, celebrating culture and community, while learning about the ongoing work towards racial equity.

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, commemorates June 19, 1865, the date when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation and declare freedom for over 250,000 enslaved people in the state. While the Emancipation Proclamation was signed in 1863, enforcement in Confederate states like Texas was delayed until U.S. Army presence could be established. It was not until June 17, 2021, that the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act officially established the date as a U.S. federal holiday.

As part of Elder Abuse Awareness Month, Dane County Adult Protective Services (APS)—in collaboration with Pellitteri Waste Systems' Data Destruction Division, the Area Agency on Aging, Dane County Highway & Transportation Department, Dane County Department of Waste + Renewables, and the City of Madison—is hosting its annual Shred Fest and Small Electronics Recycling Event on Friday, June 12 at Warner Park (2930 N. Sherman Ave.) from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for Dane County residents. Financial exploitation, financial abuse, and financial scams are the leading types of elder abuse each year in Dane County and across Wisconsin. By confidentially shredding personal documents and recycling small electronics (cell phones, laptops, E-readers, and/or tablets) with identifying information, Dane County residents can help protect themselves from foul play.

Dane County residents are encouraged to bring their personal documents (up to three bags/boxes per vehicle) to be confidentially shredded by Pellitteri's Data Destruction Division. In addition, Dane County Waste & Renewables will be accepting small personal electronics for recycling. Electronics that will be accepted include cell phones, laptops, e-readers, and/or tablets. Dane County Waste & Renewables will then ensure the devices are properly and safely recycled—protecting personal information that may be stored on them.

Giving back to our community.
A group from Trailways Counseling set aside some time to volunteer to make a home made meal for families currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Madison.
The Ronald McDonald house provides housing for families who have a sick or injured child in the hospital. Their mission is simple..."nothing else should matter" and the importance of family in this "home away from home".

Let's celebrate Pride Month daily!

Pride Month is officially celebrated in the month of June but why not practice every day!

Pride Month traces its roots to the Stonewall Uprising of June 1969 in New York City, a pivotal moment that helped spark the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Since then, Pride has grown into an opportunity to celebrate progress, honor those who advocated for change and acknowledge the work that continues today.

Take some time to learn, listen and reflect on the history that shaped the movement and the those who continue to make a difference every day. You can make that difference too when you live with understanding, kindness and respect.
